My Summary
About Me
Hello Parents!
My name is Deborah,
I possess a genuine enthusiasm for looking after children in addition to aiding their development and watching them thrive.
Equipped with knowledge that focuses on developmental studies, I continue to learn about and keep updated with the key stages and care of children.
Gifted with empathy, compassion and the ability to develop and maintain a positive rapport with children and parents alike, I encourage children to explore their talents and interests through various activities as well as providing additional support for families.
Strong communication and listening skills are amongst those I have acquired. Additional skills include a high level of emotional intelligence. First aid and organisational skills are also strengths I possess plus the ability to use initiative.
I am confident when faced with the opportunity to meet and liaise with new people and can adapt to various environments with ease.
I have completed a full, up to date DBS check and am fully First Aid trained.
I have also worked as a tutor and mentor for teenagers and young adults. Responsibilities included providing emotional support and pastoral care for students that exhibited challenging behaviour.
Hobbies include writing , baking and listening to music. I am an avid reader, and am interested in innovative ways to provide children with a safe, edifying and warm environment , giving them the opportunity to look forward to a healthy and fulfilling future no matter what labels or limitations have been attached to them.
All in all, I am eager to learn and develop new skills as well as strengthening existing ones. I hope my passion transcends within this role.
I look forward to hearing from you!
My Experience
I have years worth of experience as a babysitter, looking after various ages, ranging from 3 months old to 12 years old in addition to multiple children.
Through various roles as a private nanny, I have taken sole charge of managing the morning routine, school drop off, school pick up and food preparation, plus facilitating additional activities.
Working closely with children, teenagers and young adults for an extended period of time has equipped me the knowledge and confidence to demonstrate basic understanding of child development and learning in addition to the ability to relate well to children and adults.
Due to my former role as a Learning Support Assistant (SEP 2020), taking place in a school setting, I have developed a general understanding of the National Curriculum and other basic learning programmes.
From September- December 2018, I took on the full time role of Nanny, with sole charge of managing the morning routine, school drop off, school pick up, food preparation, plus additional activities.
I also have experience in childcare, as an Early Years Support Worker, working in a nursery from March 2018. I assisted with the care of children from 0-4 years.
This included the supervision of activities, such as messy play, arts & crafts, cooking, reading and outdoor/physical pursuits and the planning ,observation and record keeping that inform parents and carers about their child’s day. Additional responsibilities included preparing and serving suitable meals, snacks and drinks as well as teaching general life skills, such as basic hygiene and manners.
Over the summer of 2017, I undertook two different stints in regards to childcare. The first required looking after two children, giving their parents the option to enjoy an occasional evening out. The second involved working closely with a family, engaging with their two children whilst their parents completed busy schedules at work. Responsibilities included taking the children to school in addition to picking them up at the end of the day, preparing their dinner, and helping with homework in addition to other activities.
I have had extensive experience with babies, ranging from personal to professional. Duties include nappy changes, feeding both milk and solids, facilitating sleep routine and general interaction.
The additional benefit of studying a psychology degree, where developmental study was heavily involved has helped greatly.
I look forward to meeting you and your families !!

My first time using a babysitter and I felt very much at ease after meeting Deborah for the first time and hearing about her previous childcare experiences. She was patient with my son and very nurturing and understanding towards my son’s communication needs - my son instantly appeared comfortable with her. She prioritised building a good relationship with him and was very efficient and arrived slightly earlier than the arranged time to allow for me to leave promptly. Deborah communicated with me throughout the time she was with my son, updating me on their activities together which put me at ease and he seemed to have enjoyed himself. I will definitely be using Deborah’s services again in the future and I highly recommend her to anyone who is seeking a babysitter.
Deborah took great care of my daughter and put my mind at ease. She arrived on time and put baby to bed. She gave me regular updates and was happy to send photos. Would highly recommend.
I was pleasantly surprised by Deborahs promptness and attention to detail at such short notice. she baby sat my som and put him sleep with no hassle given this was the first time. i highly recommend her and will be using service again!
Seeing as this was my first time leaving my boys with someone new considering I have my youngest who was diagnosed with ASD and often doesn’t take well to new people. Deborah was absolutely amazing. She had alot of knowledge about Autism which put me at ease. She came early to settle in with my boys. She was patient and observant and attentive. Even my oldest who is 12 had nothing but good things to say. She kept me updated about the boys throughout the evening which put me at ease. Came back to my sink being cleaned aswell which was very sweet of her.Honestly pleased with her service. Your children will be in good hands with Deborah as she demonstrates care and patience for each child as an individual. Will definitely be using her services again. Thank you Deborah!!
