My Experience

I have been childminding since February 2008, and have been graded as 'outstanding' in 2008, 2012, and 'good' in 2016, 2020. I did my work placement for my NVQ2 at St. Catherine's, where they kindly allowed me to gain experience in the then nursery and reception classes.

I started my working life in food retail and worked my way up to management before having my first child in 2000. I have used both a day nursery and a childminder myself, so I know what it's like to be a working parent.

My Qualifications

I hold the Children's and Young People's Workforce Level 3 Diploma, having previously achieved my NVQ Level 2 in Early Years Care and Education, and I also hold current certificates in Paediatric First Aid, (updated every three years) Safeguarding and Child Protection and Food Hygiene.

Since starting childminding I have attended many courses and workshops which include:
Introduction to Childcare Practice, Early Years Foundation Stage, Phonics in the EYFS, Tiny Tots, Take a Chance on Play, Exploring Cultures, AXS01, Storytelling, Behaviour Management in the EYFS, Physical Play and Games, SEN/ Code of Practice, Making Food Fun, Looking at Play, Literacy Through Play, Webster Stratton, ICAN for Childminders, Active Kids, Gender-Behaviour and Achievment, Revised EYFS, 2yr old Development Checks, Baby Signing.

I also attend network and update meetings online or face to face regularly in order to keep up with current regulations and best practice.

My Availability

My normal working hours are 8.00am-5.30pm.

However I aim to be flexible so please contact me if you require care outside of these times.

My Fees

• Childminding from £7.00 per hour

My basic hourly rate is £7.00

Premium rates apply to early starts or late finishes, please contact me for more details.

Parents need to provide:
a healthy packed lunch in line with my policy
all food and milk for babies not yet weaned
Nappies, personal care items such as nappy cream, suncream, etc.

I offer funded childcare places subject to spaces available, there will be a small charge to cover consumables and costs above the basic educational entitlement.
Other help with childcare costs may be available subject to your eligibilty.
