About Me

Hi ya,

I’m Cher a mum of three girls who are 32,21and 18 and a 3 year granddaughter,I have a passion to have an input into children’s life's and experiences. And help nurture them I also love doing arts and crafts and going on day trips whatever the weather I believe children should get out everyday and enjoy the fresh air and nature.

My Experience

I'm currently not with a family at the moment as my last family /child is in year six and has started to be independent and walks home from school himself so with a heavy heart im not needed now only occasional weekend/evening babysits . I have loved my time with my family and child and we have become very good friends and I know this will last forever so I am truly grateful and and was very grateful to have the opportunity to watch him grow up . So I am now looking for a new family to join where I can become part of the family and make a new little best friend/ friends and can help guide and bring joy and fun to a new family. In the past I have been only term time only but i will do school holidays as well and evenings and occasional weekends. So just a little bit about my last role In term time I would collect the child from school, take him to any after school clubs/sessions he may have ensuring we are punctual. Once finishing we would head back to the family home, where I would then prepare a healthy snack or dinner if mum or dad was running late then do the bedtime routine.During the school holidays we would do all sorts of activities ranging from art and craft days to visiting museums, cinemas, local attractions and arranging play dates. I would work a full day during the holidays and do the same with regards to preparing a healthy snacks or lunches. Occasionally I would babysit the child where I will then ensure the child is bathed and had a healthy meal for dinner and ready for the following morning.

Prior to my last job I was nanny to a 18 month old little boy 3 days a week term time only. A normal day for us would be: I’d firstly pick him up from his grandparents and we would head to an activity which would be age and weather appropriate this could be anything from going to the park to a soft play. Once finishing with our morning activity we will head back to the house and give the little boy lunch which I would prepare. On some occasions I would have him a little later where I would pick my youngest daughter up from college and then drop the little boy home once his parents have arrived home. When we was at the house and the little boy was taking a nap I will do a few light house keeping duties such as dusting, hoovering and the washing up sometimes the laundry.

I have worked in a private nursery as well which was ofsted rated OUTSTANDING within the Greenwich borough for three and a half years before leaving to become a nanny. When working in the nursery I started off as bank staff where I would assist in any of the rooms ages ranging from 3 months to 5 years. But then become a full time member of staff within the baby room ages 3 months to 2 years. Within this role I would ensure that the environment was safe for the children to be in and that all activities/equipment was age appropriate. Also on a daily basis I would ensure that all children are seen as individuals and all their individual needs were being met. I would babysit with some of my key children so that the parents feel safe leaving their children with someone who knew them. I have been a mum for 32 years now and would say I have got lots of experience with children of all ages I have also got experience with behaviour problems too as I my youngest daughter is autistic and ADHD so that could be challenging some times too even now we have days that are not great but we work together and we make the best of it I rarely get phased by things and have had lots of different experiences with regards to behaviour no two days are the same being a parent or nanny I hope this gives you a little insight to me
