We are a Montessori setting that opens from 8am to 6pm Monday to Friday 51 weeks of a year. We have a baby room unit on our top floor which is for children from birth until they are 2 years old and our 2-5 years classrooms are across our ground floor.
The baby room is open all year round apart from the week we close for Christmas and all bank holidays, whereas the downstairs runs term time only, meaning you will only ever get invoiced for the term dates and then you can decide which weeks and what days and times you wish your child to attend during the holidays if you require it.
We offer breakfast, snacks, lunch and tea but depending what sessions a child is attending, will depend on what meals are provided to them. All meals are included in the price within the baby room unit. Children attending the 2-5 year classroom's, there is a £3.00 fee for every lunch or tea you wish to have, or you have the option of bringing in a packed lunch. We ask is that the packed lunch is placed in a labelled lunch bag with an ice pack placed inside and that all food items are in their original packaging so we can see the ingredients list or alternatively place a list of ingredients inside the bag so we can ensure children will severe allergies are not at risk.
With the baby room, they hold a number of different sessions throughout the week as well as planned developmental activities, some examples are sensory sessions, cookery sessions and exploring the outdoors which include going out on a walk in our Sliver Cross prams.
Within the 2-5 year classrooms, the morning sessions are when the children can have the option to free-flow and choose which activities they wish to take part in and planned activities will also take place. The afternoon sessions are when extra curriculum activities take place, some examples are on a Monday, the children take part in a dance lesson. On a Wednesday we have a Spanish teacher that comes in and holds a session. On a Friday they go on a walk and take part in planned activities.
The children are asked to wear a uniform when they two and above, which for boys consists of:
Girls - gold polo shirt, grey pinafore dress, grey tights, purple cardigan and purple Lexden Montessori (there is also a yellow summer dress for the warmer months)
Boys - gold polo shirt, grey shorts, grey socks, purple jumper and purple Lexden Montessori coat. (you can also purchase black jogging bottoms for the winter months)
We also ask that the children have a pair of black plimsolls that get kept at the nursery for the children to change in and out of when arriving and leaving the nursery for hygiene purposes as well as a pair of wellies for outdoor play.
