About Me
Hi, I’m Jas Sangha, an Ofsted registered childminder with over 20 years of experience. I have been childminding since 2002 and am married with three children.
I provide a warm, home-from-home setting where children feel safe, secure, and valued. My practice follows the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework, supporting children’s learning and development through a balance of child-initiated and adult-led activities. In my setting, children make approximately 80% of the choices in their day, allowing them to follow their interests, develop independence, and become confident learners. The remaining 20% of activities are carefully planned by me to support each child’s individual needs and next steps across the EYFS areas of learning.
I support children’s development through play-based learning, promoting the three prime areas—communication and language, physical development, and personal, social and emotional development—alongside the four specific areas of the EYFS.
I speak Punjabi, Hindi, and Urdu, which helps me to build strong partnerships with families and support inclusive practice within my setting.
My aim is to work closely with parents to provide a nurturing, stimulating environment where children feel happy, confident, and motivated to learn.
My Experience
Caring for children has been my passion for over 30 years. I have worked with children since 1994, starting as a nursery assistant before qualifying as a Montessori teacher in 1996. Supporting children’s learning, development, and wellbeing has always been at the heart of everything I do.
After becoming a parent myself in 2001, I chose to become a childminder so I could provide a warm, loving, home-from-home environment where children feel safe, valued, and confident to be themselves. As a mum of three, I understand just how important it is for parents to feel reassured that their child is happy, secure, and thriving.
My setting offers a rich learning environment with a wide range of indoor and outdoor resources. Children learn through play every day, using natural and open-ended materials alongside carefully chosen Montessori resources. As a Montessori-qualified teacher, I gently guide children using Montessori principles, encouraging independence, curiosity, and a lifelong love of learning at each child’s own pace.
We enjoy regular outings linked to our monthly topics, including visits to the library and local children’s centre. These experiences help children build confidence, social skills, and a wider understanding of the world around them.
I use a secure online learning platform to share observations, photos, and updates about your child’s development. This allows parents to stay closely involved in their child’s learning journey, communicate easily with me, and share experiences from home, creating a strong and supportive partnership.
Above all, I am passionate about providing a nurturing, happy environment where children feel secure, supported, and excited to learn every day.

I accept childcare vouchers and tax-free childcare.
