About Me – A Little About My Childminding Journey.
I am a kind, caring and dedicated childminder with 16 years of experience in providing a safe, happy and nurturing environment where children can learn, grow and thrive.
I am passionate about supporting every child’s individual needs, interests and development, helping them build confidence, independence and a love of learning through fun, play and exploration. I cover all seven areas of learning within the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), ensuring that children have a wide range of opportunities to develop and reach their full potential.
My garden is a fantastic space for outdoor learning, filled with a variety of resources that encourage children to explore, discover, be creative and develop their physical skills. I believe that outdoor play is an important part of childhood, allowing children to learn through first-hand experiences while having lots of fun.
We regularly enjoy exciting outings to local parks, farms, playgroups and soft play centres. These experiences give children opportunities to socialise, make friends, develop new skills and discover the world around them.
Above all, I believe that children learn best when they feel safe, loved, valued and happy. I pride myself on being a warm, patient and approachable person who treats every child with kindness, understanding and respect. Building positive relationships with both children and their families is very important to me, as I want parents to feel confident and reassured that their little ones are in caring and capable hands.
My aim is to make every child’s time with me special, filled with laughter, learning, adventure and precious memories. I feel privileged to play such an important role in children’s early years and to watch them grow into happy, confident little individuals.
My Experience
I have been working as a childminder for 16 years, and during this time, I have gained a wealth of knowledge and experience in caring for children and supporting their learning and development. Being a childminder has been a rewarding journey that has allowed me to make a positive difference in children's lives and help them grow into confident, independent, and happy individuals.
Throughout my 16 years of experience, I have cared for children of different ages, backgrounds, and abilities. I understand that every child is unique and develops at their own pace, so I aim to provide a safe, welcoming, and nurturing environment where every child feels loved, valued, and secure.
I have developed a good understanding of the different areas of child development, including physical, emotional, social, language, and cognitive development. I encourage children to learn through play by providing activities such as reading stories, singing songs, arts and crafts, outdoor play, puzzles, and imaginative play. These activities help children develop their communication, creativity, confidence, problem-solving, and social skills.
My experience has also taught me the importance of safeguarding, health and safety, promoting good hygiene, establishing routines that support children's well-being. I understand my responsibility to keep children safe and to recognise and respond appropriately to their individual needs.
Over the years, I have built positive relationships with parents and families by communicating openly, sharing information about children's progress, and working together to support their development. I believe that a strong partnership between a childminder and parents is essential to providing consistent and high-quality care.
One of the most rewarding aspects of being a childminder is watching children develop new skills, gain confidence, make friendships, and reach important milestones. I feel proud to have played a part in their early years and to have supported families during such an important stage of their children's lives.
After 16 years as a childminder, I have become understanding, organised, and confident in my role. My experience has strengthened my passion for childcare and my commitment to providing high-quality care, supporting every child's individual needs, and giving children the best possible start in life.
My Qualifications
Level 2 paediatric first aid and level 3 diploma in homebased childcare.
