About Me
Hello and welcome to Joanna's Childminding Service.
I have been childminding for over 11 years now and I am fully registered by OFSTED and on my inspection I received - OUTSTANDING. Same as on my previous inspection.
Within the 1st year I established myself in the local community and become very popular with the parents (please see reviews). I now employ 2 assistants who are also CRB checked and First aid trained to help with the day to day running of my childcare.
September 2012 Stevenage council saw my potential and offered me a free place at Hertford Regional College so I could gain the following qualification NVQ level 3 in Children and Young People's Workforce so from September 2013 I am able to offer 15hrs for free a week for 2 and 3 years old.
2017 I have receiver GOLD Quality Standards reward from Hertfordshire Council.
I offer free 30 or 15 hours for children aged 2,3 and 4.
I am living with my husband Danny who works as a key account manager in London.
We have 2 lovely children - Iggy 17 and Sophia 13.
We live in St Nicolas in a big 4 bedroom house with a good size garden.
Downstairs there is a fully equipped play room with a vast variety of toys for all age groups, WC, child friendly living room, kitchen and baby room too. Upstairs is a spare room for nap times and a play room.
I provide healthy snacks and home made meals daily. You will receive a text every week with the menu for your child.
Weekly activities plan include:
Painting, rhyme time, crafts, messy play, music lessons, dance, role play, play doh.
Trips to the park and children centres, visiting play groups and other events for children.
My aim is to keep children in my care safe, busy and happy!
My Experience
I have always wanted to look after children that’s why I went to University and become a teacher.
Since university I have done my childminding course and decided to look after children in my own house.
I think you can’t find more rewarding job than spending time with children.
I am a volunteer for the local council where I help run varies children play groups in the area.
NVQ level 3 in Children and Young People's Workforce.
GOLD Quality standards reward.
OUTSTANDING Ofsted grade.
I have huge experience with working with children with ALLERGIES.
Also, I am working with a child with DIABETES so I got insulin training (injections, pomp)
I have finished wide range of childcare courses like safeguarding children, have also food hygiene course.

Current CRB check
Diploma in home based childcare.
First aid training.
Member of NCMA and am fully insured.

My son started very soon with Joanna,but Joanna and the girls are brilliant and it’s really visible that they do love kids! He adapt to them easy and quickly and talk every day about little cute Pomeranian dog. I am happy and proud as a mum because little one is always happy,calm and with a smile on his face when he is back to home. I am more than happy as a mum and same time feel so sorry why I didn’t met Joanna a little bit more early. Highly recommend Joanna as a best place for kids in Stevenage! x

My son has been going to Joanna since January 2023, we were so happy that in June we were able to increase his time there from 3 days to 4.
I was very anxious leaving my son and I would message daily - to reassure me I get daily pictures and updates. Initially when my son started he was having a hard time transition from being breast fed. Joanna tried several beakers at her home and finally my son to a liking to one - I remember the picture she sent to me saying we have found a beaker he likes. She goes the extra mile.
I am beyond happy with the service that Joanna provides. My son is full of smiles going to her and leaves happy. He is learning so much, every week is a new theme and activities. She also ensures that each child has a journal and it tells you of their day, what they have eaten and nap time.
She is always happy to support and encourage independence.
The best part is my son runs into her home with out saying bye to me - that’s how I know he loves going to her!
I would recommend Joanna to anyone who needs a childminder who goes the extra mile for the children she looks after.

My daughter started Joanna’s setting in September 2022 and I couldn’t believe how quickly she settled in. This was a first establishment away from home for Isabelle and I was extremely anxious how it is going to be. Every day during the settling in sessions I received updates on how Isabelle is doing and it helped me greatly knowing how happy she was there. Since then I receive daily updates on activities my daughter is involved in, including pictures. Every evening Isabelle is coming home with a new development or skill which is great achievement thanks to Joanna and her team. Joanna cooks delicious and very varied meals for children and Isabelle enjoys eating there.
Overall I can’t thank her enough for being such great childminder and I am feeling extremely lucky to find her.
