My Summary
About Me
Hello and welcome to Joanna's Childminding Service.
I have been childminding for over 15 years now and I am fully registered by OFSTED and on my inspection I received - OUTSTANDING. Same as on my previous inspection.
Within the 1st year I established myself in the local community and become very popular with the parents (please see reviews). I now employ 2 assistants who are also CRB checked and First aid trained to help with the day to day running of my childcare.
September 2012 Stevenage council saw my potential and offered me a free place at Hertford Regional College so I could gain the following qualification NVQ level 3 in Children and Young People's Workforce.
2017 I have receiver GOLD Quality Standards reward from Hertfordshire Council.
2024 I have gained NVQ level 5 - Early Years Leader.
I offer free 30 or 15 hours for children aged 2,3 and 4.
I am living with my husband Danny who works as a key account manager in London.
We have 2 lovely children - Iggy 21 ( full time Kings College University- Biochemistry) and Sophia 17.
We live in St Nicolas in a big 4 bedroom house with a good size garden.
Downstairs there is a fully equipped play room with a vast variety of toys for all age groups, WC, child friendly living room, kitchen and baby room too. Upstairs is a spare room for nap times and a play room.
I provide healthy snacks and home made meals daily. You will receive a text every week with the menu for your child.
Weekly activities plan include:
Painting, rhyme time, crafts, messy play, music lessons, dance, role play, play doh.
Trips to the park and children centres, visiting play groups and other events for children.
My aim is to keep children in my care safe, busy and happy!

Joanna and her lovely staff offer the most ideal setting for little ones. My daughter has a health condition, and Joanna and her team went above and beyond to offer the best care and support for her (and for us parents) . It was really difficult to find somewhere we felt confident leaving our daughter and I’m so lucky to have found happy Pom poms.
My daughter loved attending, she always had a big smile on her face, and still goes back during school holidays along with my older boy who also enjoys it!
The learning and games and activities are fun, Joanna keeps its interesting . The food is fresh and you get great feedback and lots of photos. It feels very personal and professional. If I was to have another child I would 100% send them to Happy Pom poms. The setting is lovely and homely. Would recommend!

I have used this childminder for many years, starting with my second child in 2015 through to his start in reception, and now for my 2-year-old daughter who has been with them for a year. She absolutely loves it and includes them when listing her responsible grown-ups! The care provided is personable and second to none. We love receiving real-time photos and updates of daily activities. They provide freshly prepared homemade meals, encourage learning through creative play and focused topics, and even organize wonderful social events like Christmas parties. Their love and care shine through in everything they do. I trust them 100% and would recommend them to anyone. They are not your average childminder—they will truly exceed your expectations!

I first contacted you on March 31st, and your reply came only on April 27th. I responded the following morning and reached out again on April 30th, but I have not received any further reply.
I also noticed that you viewed my profile several times, which makes the lack of response even more confusing.
In my opinion, this level of communication is unprofessional, especially in the childcare field where trust and reliability are essential. I was initially interested in having my child in your care, but due to this experience, I no longer feel confident moving forward.
I wish you all the best.
