My Summary
About Me
I have worked in childcare for over 20 years and believe it is a privilege to be responsible for the development, happiness and health of children. I take huge pride in what I do and have a natural affinity with children. As a mother myself, I understand the need to find someone kind and caring to look after your children. I provide a home from home environment, where children feel safe and secure.
I am caring, patient and passionate about aiding in the development of children in all possible ways. I love to see how children grow into their personalities and find it fascinating to watch how they change over time and become more confident.
We regularly go on outings to parks, woodlands, play cafes, soft play and local playgroups. We spend time reading books, doing messy play, sensory play and arts and crafts in my home. We have free flow play from inside my home to outside in our garden, so that children can utilise all the space and enjoy playing outside as often as they would like. Play is both structured (adult led) and open-ended (child-led), in order to aid in the progression of all seven areas of learning and development. We have a varied schedule to keep our days interesting, engaging and fun. I provide a termly Activity Planner with a theme for the term, which helps to focus the children’s education on a specific topic and allow them to fully explore every part of their world whilst learning and developing through play.
I really enjoy cooking and baking and love introducing children to new food. I think it is important for children to enjoy eating a varied diet. Meals and snacks are included within my fees and can be altered to suit any dietary requirements or allergies. We regularly bake homemade snacks to enjoy together, such as healthy flapjacks and muffins. I provide a 4 week rolling menu, which changes seasonally. I can provide a sample meal plan on request.
Parents are the most important people in children's lives and it is very important for me to have a strong relationship with all parents and carers. We will be able to celebrate children's successes and plan any actions together to aid in development as required. We can work in partnership to help children achieve their full potential.
I am first aid trained, Ofsted registered and Level 4 qualified in Early Years.
We have a cat and a dog - just in case of any allergies. They are around in the house but not usually in our playroom with us. The children get a chance to interact with the animals safely.

My Experience
I have been a registered childminder since August 2021. I was a nanny for over 13 years and worked in a nursery and a primary school prior to that, totalling 20 years of childcare experience. I have nannied for children ranging from newborn to 10 years old, with families with between one and four children including a nanny share with two boys the same age, the equivalent of looking after twins.
I have my own two children, born in November 2018 and August 2020, who will be present in my setting before and after school.
I employ an assistant who is incredible, and has been in my setting for over a year. We have 6 children per day in the setting.

We couldn’t be happier with Stacey and her setting. She provides such a warm, safe, and caring environment, and our little one absolutely loved going each day. Stacey cooks healthy, home-made meals, takes the children on lovely outings, and always makes sure they’re learning and having fun.
The setting feels safe and stable, and with Stacey’s updates and handovers we knew our child was being well looked after.
Stacey is always professional, kind, and approachable. Our child has thrived in her care, and we feel very lucky to have found her. I would highly recommend Stacey to any family looking for a caring and reliable childminder.

We were lucky enough to find Stacey after having our first child. I was anxious about the prospect of ‘daycare’ for my child at 12months old but Stacey’s proposition was far superior to anything I had previously considered. Her home setting is warm, inviting and gentle where the babies get lots of attention. Stacey takes a lot of care settling them in, and ensures they are coping well, communicating with us throughout. Very soon it was clear to us that our daughter loved her days at Stacey’s. Nearly every day, the kids are out and about at soft plays, libraries, parks, playgrounds or farms. When they’re ‘home’ they have a large playroom to explore, and beautiful back garden with plenty of equipment for them to play on. We love seeing photos of all the fun our daughter is having throughout the day. She is obsessed with the big beautiful cat, Duke, and dog Jessie who loves nothing more than a good book in the book corner! Stacey takes a lot of care to give the children opportunities to learn through play, and our daughter consistently demonstrated new skills she learned there. Stacey not only makes delicious home made food for them, but gets them involved in the cooking which is lots of fun.
We’ve gotten to know Stacey and her family well over the last two years because they always have time for us, always happy to chat which is something we really appreciate. Stacey is always looking out for the wellbeing of the children, and is always quick to communicate if our daughter is feeling unwell or just isn’t herself. This is important to us as we never wanted our daughter to have to ‘struggle through’ a day when she would rather be home. We also appreciate Stacey’s robust policies around sickness/illnesses, showing a real effort to control the spread of viruses and other nasties between the children. These policies protect all of the children and have ensured her setting remained open throughout some tough winters.
Stacey is a reliable, professional yet warm and energetic childminder who I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend. My first daughter has moved on to preschool, but now my second daughter has started with Stacey and my ‘clingy koala baby’ has settled in like a dream.

I was really looking forward to my daughter starting with Stacey. She has a well-kept setting, makes lovely food, and takes the children on nice outings.
We did find some of her policies challenging though. Mainly that if a child is sent home with a temperature of 37.5, they cannot attend the following day. Due to this, my daughter was unable to attend 13 days over six months, but there was only one occasion that she seemed under the weather. Every other time we picked her up and she would be eating and playing as normal without any fever or signs of being unwell or distressed. After speaking with other parents, it became clear that children are frequently sent home, so it wasn’t just our experience. I have an older child and this policy isn't standard across all childcare settings. Combined with her term-time schedule and ad hoc closures, it became difficult to manage.
We decided to move to a different childminder who was a better fit for our family. Stacey offers a caring environment, but her approach and policies may not suit everyone.
