About Me
My name is Wendy I am a childminder in Weston Super Mare. I am married with two lovely grown up children who have flown the nest. Since covid I have work as a co-childminder with a colleague in their home, that also has a lovely large garden and purpose built cabin. We are both registered in our own right with Ofsted. We have a wide range of resources to entertain, encourage and build on your little one's interests and development, and an extensive library that is constantly being added to. As part of our offer, we go out on lots of adventures to woodlands, beaches, National Trust properties and farms. We also go out into the community to visit local toddler groups, soft play areas, parks and forest school giving the children the opportunity to explore and experience the wider world. We meet up with other childminders and their minded children that are in our networking group so that children have the opportunity to mix in larger groups of adults and children and we do visits to a local care-home, which can be very beneficiall for both the children and the residents. We are a pet friendly setting consisting of a dog (of hypo-allergenic breed) named Belle and a guineapig called Jessie. The children love them both and it helps them to learn about caring for animals.
My Experience
I have a Diploma in Nursery Nursing (NNEB) and CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Home-based Childcare. I undertake extra training to keep updated on current legistlation and ideas and when it is relevant to the children in my care. I have been registered with Ofsted and the Local Authority since 2008. Befor that, I was a childminder in Churchcrookham, Hampshire for 2 years and a Creche Manager for 5 years.
My Qualifications
I have a Diploma in Nursery Nursing (NNEB) and CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Home Based Childcare. Paediatric First Aid. I undertake extra training to keep updated on current legislation and ideas and when it is relevant to the children in my care.
My Availability
I am registered to accept the Government Funding for childcare and use the stretched pattern of funding which is over 47.5 weeks of the year and works out at 12hrs per week (if claiming 15hrs or 24hrs per week if claiming 30hrs. I am also registered to accept Tax-free childcare and Universal Credit. My work days are Tuesday to Thursday 8.00/8.30am to 4.00pm over a stretched period of 47.5 weeks of the year.
