Hi I'm Tammy. I am mainly looking for a few hours in the week and/or holiday hours. I have over 12 years experience and exemplary references. I hold a degree in psychology, as well as a level 3 diploma in childcare and education. I also regularly complete relevant training for working with children.
I currently work as a managing director for a junior Out-of-school club - term time. I am always up to date with all relevant training, as my job entails this. I babysit for quite a few families in Sheffield but I am looking for a few more hours a week nannying/Babysitting/House keeping, as my last regular family have moved on up to school! Holiday work would be a bonus.
I am a fun and energetic person that believes a positive approach to behavior is the way forward. I've cared for so many different and wonderful children over the years and believe I have the skills and strategies to deal with a range of challenging and unchallenging situations. As your nanny I would provide the best possible care in your absence and offer lots of activities to meet your child's needs throughout the day, especially singing and music for the young ones. I'm very resourceful and can use just about anything for entertainment and learning. I also feel its important to support the family in general, so if you wanted to lighten your load by giving me chores to do as well, I really don't mind, I'm here to make it easier for you.
I have an an up to date DBS check with status update, as I need this to be registered with ofsted as a managing director. This means that you can request a criminal record check for free when hiring me.
Out of School Club(present) -
manager & coordinator
Being the ofsted registered person, responsible for approx 150 children and around 13 staff. I provide a fun and safe environment to socialise in. I am in ratio often too so I keep in touch with the children and what’s going on in my setting.
Nursery (4 years) -
I worked in a day nursery in Lincoln as my first paid job, I started off in the 0-2 years room as the nursery had just started out, as the children got older a pre-school room was developed and I spent a good 3 years in there, gaining knowledge of current practice, legislation and gaining wonderful ideas from other professionals i met.
I previously offered relief services to a nursery in Sheffield July 2014 until November 2014.
Nannying(since 2012) -
Since signing up to this site I have met several families, offering them regular care or even just a bit of help and advice. One family with mix gender twins, one with a 2 year old girl, one with an 8 month old boy, two girls under 4 and another family with two EAL learners originally coming from Sudan, and also regular babysitting for a child with additional needs and his sister. As well as this, I have been paid to support and offer advice to a secluded couple with no family close by, on the feeding/ weaning of their baby girl.
Being a nanny, I provide stimulating and age-appropriate activities, as well as any support for their parents such as house-work, shopping or lending an extra hand for those busier moments, such as birthday party entertainment.
I have previously volunteered in a scout group, aged 10 to 14 years. Familiar with the EYFS framework and can provide development records for your child if requested, so you don't feel like you have missed out on their day. Worked in two schools and a nursery whilst training over a period of two years.
Out of work I use to spend a lot of time with my niece, my favorite person in the whole world, she just turned 10! Unfortunately since moving cities, I have had to fill my time with more grown up things like the cinema, planning my wedding and enjoying a hot getaway once in a while.

Tammy has been with my family for over a year helping me every week with my two girls (now 1 and 3). She comes for around 5 hours every week and also babysits some evenings. Starting August she will even be doing some overnights with us while I have to work in London. I cannot recommend Tammy highly enough. She is flexible and goes above and beyond every time and my kids absolutely LOVE her. The care she takes of them and the activities she plans with them are second to none.I trust her completely with my precious girls and really feel she is part of the family. She is very responsible and trustworthy as well as being smart, driven and a great role model for the girls. We hope to have her around for a long time. I honestly feel I struck it lucky with finding her. Thanks Tammy! xxxxxx
Tammy has been working for us for over 2 months now. We have 3 children and our youngest son has learning disabilities. Tammy has been great with all 3 children from the word go. She has fun with the children but equally knows exactly when boundaries should be put in place. I can't recommend Tammy highly enough!!
Tammy has looked after my Son Jacob for the last few months on an ad hoc and part time basis. She started caring for him when he was around 8 months old. She continues to be highly professional, caring and responsive to my Son's needs and I could not recommend her highly enough. She is extremely proactive and innovative in her approach to childcare and Jacob is a very happy little boy in her company.
Tammy looked after my twins Katie & Luke for about a 15 month period for 1 or 2 days a week, during the day. She also did night time baby-sitting on occasions. Katie and Luke were not quite 2 years old when Tammy first joined to help us and since then they have blossomed into fantastic 3 year olds who have great social skills, confidence and they enjoy the company of others. They have good manners, are polite and adapt well to changes in environments. I firmly believe that Tammy helped their development tremendously over this period. She has great experience, always kept the children entertained, had a ready supply of fun games and educational exercises to hand and was especially good when relating their core skills to the nursery education development plan. I trusted Tammy to have my children alone, she would take them out on visits on her own and she would always have their best interests in mind. Excellent.
Tammy had taken care of my 2 children (4 & 6 years) over the last few months. She picked them from school 4 days a week , did reading with both of them and even prepared/gave them their dinner.
They enjoyed her company ( although they do not adapt easily) and were always smiling when I came home- as she was friendly and had different daily activities for them (creative and new every day).
She put them to bed on time when I stayed late at work(which is a difficult job for me!)
I have family with me now who are helping with my children, that is why Tammy is not with me now. I will definitely call her if I am looking for any help in future.
