Kat was the childminder for our DS from January 2025 to July 2025. In July 2025, a parent at a softplay made a complaint about Kat’s conduct towards our 17 month-old DS. Footage from the softplay was then assessed by the police, Ofsted and social services who deemed Kat’s conduct to be wilful neglect. Based on the reports and the CCTV footage, Kat’s Ofsted registration was suspended in July 2025. The CCTV footage from the softplay showed our DS in distress, being ignored by Kat for an extended period (approx 20 minutes) while crying. Our DS then climbed on equipment that was unsuitable for his age to be unsupervised on, and then fell off from a height onto his head - Kat ignored this, or was simply not paying attention. He then cried in a very distressed state for a further period (approx 10 minutes) and Kat did not tend to him. Two older children then came and started to hit him repeatedly on the head with wooden toys, further adding to his distress. Again, Kat did not pay any care or attention to our son. At this point a parent at the softplay stepped in and made Kat intervene, and subsequently made the complaint about Kat’s behaviour. This is all documented by CCTV. There are wider reports that this neglectful behaviour was reflective of Kat’s usual approach to our DS at different venues over the period he was in her care. The GP advised that we may never know what potential damage has been done to our son’s wellbeing and development by Kat’s neglect. Kat’s response to this incident was to send me email links, attempting to evidence that childminders do not need to pick up or comfort children or babies in distress. If Kat is somehow allowed to work with children in the future, based on our experience and the CCTV footage, I would ask that you consider our experience and make your decision accordingly.
Our daughter started at 11 months and settled in really quickly at Lubomira’s - you can tell how much the littles care for Lubomira and her family, and It was always so reassuring to see our daughter toddle off so confidently through the front door each morning. It’s always a bit nerve wracking leaving your child at first, but Lubomira made us feel so comfortable and our daughter blossomed there. We loved the little diary we got everyday so we knew what they had been up to. We always felt our daughter received the best care and had total trust in Lubomira and her setting. We are sadly moving away from the area, we just wish we could bring Lubomira with us! We feel really fortunate to have found Lubomira and can’t recommend her highly enough.
