About Me

Need help with child care over the Summer holidays? I am an energetic, enthusiastic and passionate lover of the outdoors and I use this in all my work with children and young people. I love creating activities for children that are multi-sensory, creative and encourage them to develop into confident people who know their worth, value and potential. I am available over the Summer holiday period.

*I also mobile personal training to female clients only as well as Spanish lessons to primary aged children. I can offer TUTORING for all Primary school aged children in ALL subjects.

My Experience

July 2012 - Democratic Republic of the Congo, Devised and delivered a Children’s Holiday Club
Skills Gained: Multicultural awareness, sensitivity and Team work.
I worked in a team to direct a holiday club full of activities and games for a large mixed age group of HIV/AIDS orphans at a charity in Congo called ‘IPASC’ which aims to promote better community health and well-being in the local area. I developed my sensitivity towards individual needs and was able to direct the holiday club in French; I therefore also greatly developed my Communication skills in a foreign language.

August 2014 - September 2014- Senior Mentor, NCS The Challenge UK
Skills Gaines: Adaptability, Flexibility, Managing young people
I worked as a Senior Mentor with NCS The Challenge, North West. This involved leading a group of 12 16 year old's throughout the month long programme. The programme involves residential and teamwork activities along with skills based tasks in the community. I lead reflective sessions with young people where we looked at issues surrounding leadership, confidence, risk taking and team work.

August 2014 - Nanny in Peru and Early Years Practitioner at a Private Peruvian School
Skills Gained: Cultural Awareness, Multi-Sensory Play, Language Acquisition
I worked as a nanny for a small family in Lima, Peru where I completed daily household chores and cared for the daughter whilst also teaching her some English. I worked in the Early Years department at her school delivering English language lessons and devising fun games and activities.

May 2015 - Nanny in Italy for three young children
Skills Gained: Cultural Awareness, Cooking for children, Developing activities, Communication.
I worked with a large family in Italy caring for their three young children. I cooked, completed house hold chores, took them to their different activities, created and devised games and taught them English.

June 2015 - Present- Senior Schools Worker, Leeds Faith in Schools
Skills Gained: Interpersonal, Organisational, Time Management, Communication.
I work in schools across Leeds acting as an additional member of staff to the pastoral team at the school. I deliver lessons, mentor pupils, work in inclusion units, host girls groups and take assemblies. I also currently have coaching responsibilities for a group of 12 young people. I have delivered lessons on money management, healthy relationships, developing confidence and we regularly integrate into the PSHE scheme of schools where we look at various different moral and ethical issues. My work also involves liaising with the families of students in order to develop relationships between the schools and home; therefore I have experience carrying out home visits. I oversee our Social Media presence and our volunteer recruitment.

June 2015 - Present - Creche Worker and Babysitter, Gateway Church
Skills Gained: Flexibilty, Activity Planning, Working under pressure
I work with the children at my local church delivering fun activity sessions and also regularly babysit and provide adhoc childcare for families in the Church.

August 2018 - Present - Learning Assistant, The Glasgow Academy
I am currently working as a Learning Assistant at The Glasgow Academy and offering tutoring during after school hours, weekends and during school holidays. I offer help across all Primary subjects, however I specialise in English, Spanish, French and Italian. My methods are fun, engaging, interactive and incorporate music, song, games and the outdoors.
