About Me
I live in Peacehaven with my husband and our two children, aged 9 and 6. I started Holly’s Childcare after having my first child, as I am passionate about supporting the development and learning of young children and playing a part in providing a high standard of care for the youngest members of our community.
Our Setting
The children have access to a large range of toys, resources and activities, as well as a secure, enclosed garden with lots of space to play, explore and learn.
Fresh air and time outdoors are important for children’s growth and development, so we aim to get outside every day. We enjoy making the most of our local area, with regular visits to parks, the library, the beach, soft play and walks in the local environment.
Activities and experiences are tailored to the individual needs, interests and stages of development of the children in my care. I work closely with parents and carers to help me understand each child and ensure their needs are met, while supporting them to enjoy, learn and achieve to their full potential.
The children have opportunities to take part in arts and crafts, explore, use their imaginations and learn through hands-on, first-hand experiences. Children are encouraged to make choices about their play, with a wide range of activities available for everyone to access and participate in at their own pace.
I aim to provide a warm, welcoming and nurturing environment where children feel safe, valued and confident to explore, learn and have fun.
My Experience
I have several years of childcare experience working in different Early Years provisions. I started out Nannying which involved preparing meals, creating stimulating activities for the children, following daily care plans, and collecting older children from school. I also have had experience in Nursery environments, where I have worked from Nursery practitioner up to management level. Some of my key responsibilities included maintaining parent/carer partnerships, staff recruitment, liaising with OFSTED, updating policies and procedures and ensuring the highest level of care was provided to children at all times. Prior to becoming a childminder, I worked as a Trainer Assessor delivering level 2 and level 3 Childcare qualifications, this has also involved delivering functional skills in English, Maths and ICT. In this role I have managed my own caseload and organised my own diary to ensure all students are progressing in a timely manner, I had targets and deadlines to work towards and took sole responsibility for the students I had on programme.
My Qualifications
I hold a full and relevant Level 3 qualification in Early Years (BTEC National Diploma) and I am Paediatric First Aid trained.
Continued professional development is very important to me, and I regularly attend training to keep my knowledge and practice current and effective. Recent training includes Safeguarding, Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL), Prevent Duty, Data Protection/GDPR, Equality & Diversity, Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO), Food Hygiene and Oral Health.
I am also currently completing the HALO Award, further developing my knowledge and practice in promoting healthy lifestyles and positive oral health habits for young children.
All certificates and training records are available for parents and carers to view on request.
My Availability
Full and part time hours for 0-5yr olds. We are open all year round Monday-Thursday 7am-5pm.

- Childminding from £6.50 per hour
