My name is Ruth and I am an a Ofsted registered childminder based in Hanwell, Ealing. I am married to Mustapha and we have two daughter's, both attend local schools. My husband works for a company in central London and he fully supports me in my childminding business and has a current upto date DBS check.
I have Spanish roots but was born and raised in the UK so I am fluent to an extent in the Spanish language. I grew up in Hanwell. When my husband and I married we decided to raise our own children here. It's a lovely place to grow up. As a family we enjoy lots of fun activities including swimming, adventures in the local parks, museum's, library trips, trips to soft play centres and much much more.
Prior to childminding, I worked in accounts as a credit controller for 12 years. After that I worked as a supervisor at a local school. I decided to become a childminder to enable me to spend time as a 'mum at home' with my family and provide quality childcare for other families.
I am committed to providing a fun, friendly, clean and safe environment for the children in my care. I endeavour to provide children with stimulating learning opportunities that reflect their age and stage of development through play and every day experiences. Children should be allowed to explore the world around them.
I have a large garden which the children will have access to, when the weather allows.
Children learn a lot from touch so playing with sand and water is something I try to do with them daily. I also encourage them to play with mud and suggest to them, if they can find creepy crawlies like worms . This is a great opportunity for them to have fun, feel closer to nature and just be a child.
Being outside and learning about the environment in my option, is so important, walks to local parks are an everyday thing. I learned from my own children how important and fun it was to go on adventures. . Exploring even the local area was interesting and at the same time informative. So for me this is something we do everyday. An adventure is always on the cards. I believe children learn so much by just doing this. I allow children to explore their environment and explore who they are as a person, this is so important.
I also do many activities at home but I always make sure this is child lead. We do painting and drawings on a daily basis as this is great for learning and remembering colours and is also great for pen control. I read stories from a large collection of books I have. We also sing nursery rhymes on a daily basis. We make things for example mother day present or Easter egg baskets. or just a simple birthday card. I also get the children to help make things like cakes, bread, playdoh. I have lots of different toys for children to choose from so they are never bored.
I understand that each child is an individual and treat them with care, empathy and respect. I provide a nutritious and balanced diet, encouraging the children to make healthy food choices.
I believe in working in partnership with parents; welcoming ideas and encouraging parents to provide me with comments and suggestions in their child’s journal or when they have time to talk. I run my setting professionally, attending training opportunities, respecting confidentiality, keeping organised records in accordance with current guidelines. I have clear policies and procedures. I am committed to providing a reliable service that parents can depend on and in which they can place their confidence.
I am registered to care for five children under eight years old of which no more than three can be under school age and one under one year old. As a Registered Childminder I can provide care for children from birth to twelve years old in a home environment. I am happy to take on any child within my registered numbers and will not discriminate against children or their families for reasons such as race, religion, sex or ability. I am a member of the Professional association for childcare and early years.
I am willing to pick up and drop off to local play groups, nurseries and schools in the local area. As I have my own children in local schools, I would try to accommodate where possible.
I have worked in childcare for over 3years now and thoroughly enjoy watching the children in my care grow and develop into super creative kids. I also have my own children which keep me on my toes. A 12 year old daughter nearing her teens, hardwork but is great with the little ones in my care, like a big sister. I also have a very active 7 year old girl, who loves having new little ones to play with. It's never a dull moment. Its all part of the fun.

My 5 year daughter loves Ruth like a mum and is always asking when she can go back and see the family. Ruth arranges active, fun and stimulating days for the children which they love. Ruth is always accommodating and nothing is too much to help you. I am a single dad and I don’t know what I would have done without her advice, support and love.
Warm, reliable lady , doing great job with my ADHD son , highly recommended
There’s not enough space to write about how wonderful Ruth has been as a childminder to my 5 year old!
She is a very warm, friendly and welcoming person and looked after my daughter like she was her own.
My daughter loved going to Ruth’s and the only reason she stopped was due to the pandemic. My daughter enjoyed the indoor and outdoor activities, food, and developed a bond with Ruth’s own children.
Ruth always communicated well with me (she’s very transparent and open) and I always felt that my daughter was in safe hands.
Ruth provides lovely, healthy meals and has a very laidback, loving approach. A real home away from home. Ruth would pick my daughter up from school - always punctual - and she also made sure my daughter did the homework I gave her, and helped her get ready for her gymnastics lessons.
I would 100% recommend Ruth for childcare. She’s excellent!
Our daughter has been with Ruth from the age of 9 months, up until now (she is now just under 2). Ruth has been incredibly caring, kind and supportive with her. She clearly enjoys her job as a childminder and spending time with children, is always full of ideas of outings and crafts & activities, and has always communicated with us very well. During lockdown, Ruth has been a lifeline for our family - managing to take care of our daughter while homeschooling her two daughters, without it impacting the quality of her care. She has a large garden full of nooks & crannies for little ones to explore, and under her care our daughter has developed great language and numerical skills - pushed no doubt by Ruth's conversation, and her two older daughters who have inspired our little one a lot.
Her house is clean and Margot has enjoyed the home-cooked food and numerous toys and play.
I would highly recommend Ruth as a childminder, she has been a rare find and has provided a lot of love, learning and caring for our daughter over the months.
The girls went as an emergency and really enjoyed themselves
Very helpful and positive
