My Summary
About Me
Hello, my name is Ruth and I am a registered childminder based in Hanwell, Ealing. I live with my husband, Mustapha, and our two daughters who attend local schools. I was born and raised in Hanwell and still enjoy spending time in the local parks and green spaces. I also have Spanish roots and speak conversational Spanish.
I provide a warm, friendly and nurturing home-from-home environment where children can feel safe, valued and confident. The main play space in my setting is my kitchen, which is arranged with a variety of toys, learning materials and creative opportunities. My setting is calm, organised and focused on helping children develop at their own pace.
Communication and language are central to my approach. Each week we follow a story of the week, which becomes the basis for our activities and discussions. I also create tuff tray activities linked to the weekly story, supporting sensory exploration, imaginative play and early language development.
Outdoor learning is an important part of our day.
In spring and summer, we use the garden regularly for sand and water play, the mud kitchen, outdoor toys and simple planting.
In autumn and winter, we enjoy daily walks to local parks and nature areas where we collect leaves, stones, conkers and other natural items to use in activities back at home.
I follow the rhythm of the seasons in my planning. Instead of monthly themes, I take inspiration from nature and the environment. In summer, for example, we might explore topics such as the ocean or sea creatures. In autumn, we look closely at leaves, colours and seasonal changes. This keeps learning meaningful and connected to real experiences.
Indoors, we take part in painting, drawing, crafts, stories, singing, sensory play and child-led exploration. Children are encouraged to follow their interests and express themselves creatively.
I value strong partnerships with parents and believe communication is essential. I welcome regular conversations, feedback and ideas to help support each child’s development. I follow clear policies, keep up-to-date records and maintain professional standards at all times.
I am registered to care for children from birth to 12 years old, and I offer an inclusive, non-discriminatory service where every child is treated with kindness, empathy and respect.
My aim is simple:
to provide a caring, stimulating and secure environment where every child can grow, explore and develop with confidence.
What Parents Can Expect
A Warm, Welcoming Environment
Your child will be cared for in a safe, calm and home-from-home setting where they are treated with kindness, respect and genuine attention.
Strong Communication
I believe communication is essential. Parents can expect regular updates, open conversations and a friendly, approachable style.
Story of the Week
Each week we focus on one story, which becomes our theme. This supports early literacy, vocabulary development and confidence in communication.
Tuff Tray & Sensory Play
I set up themed tuff trays linked to our weekly story, offering sensory play, imaginative scenes and hands-on learning experiences.
Seasonal Learning
I plan according to the seasons, taking inspiration from nature and the environment.
Summer: themes like the ocean may appear naturally.
Autumn: we explore leaves, conkers, textures and changing colours.
Winter & Spring: we focus on weather changes, growth, insects and new life.
This keeps learning real, relevant and enjoyable.
Daily Outdoor Experiences
Children go outside every day. In warmer months we use the garden regularly; in colder months we enjoy daily walks to local parks to explore nature and collect items for creative activities.
Creative & Child-Led Activities
Painting, drawing, crafts, singing, nursery rhymes and independent play are part of our daily routine.
A Safe, Well-Organised Setting
You can expect a clean, safe and well-maintained environment with age-appropriate resources and clear routines.
Inclusive, Individual Care
Every child is welcomed and valued. Activities are adapted to suit each child’s age and stage of development.
Professional Practice
I follow all childcare regulations, maintain up-to-date training and work closely with families to provide consistent, high-quality care.
My Experience
I’ve worked in childcare for over five years and absolutely love supporting the children in my care as they grow into confident and creative little people. As a mum myself, life is always lively and full of fun.
My eldest daughter is now 17 — a typical teenager at times, but wonderfully caring and great with the little ones, often taking on a “big sister” role. My younger daughter is 11 and full of energy. She loves having new little ones around to play with and help out with.
There’s never a dull moment in our home, but that’s all part of what makes working with children so rewarding.
My Qualifications
Unit 1 of CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Home based Childcare; this covers the following topics: 'Working in Partnership with Parents', 'Meeting Children’s Individual Needs in a Home based Setting' and 'Childcare and Child Development in the Home based Setting'.
Trained in Paediatric First Aid
Ealing Safeguarding children
Level 1 Award in food safety in catering

Ruth has been an absolute angel for our family.
She cared for our son, Phoenix, from the age of one to three, and helped him blossom into the confident, curious little boy he is today. Ruth is incredibly kind, endlessly patient, and genuinely devoted to the children she looks after it’s no surprise they all adore her.
Phoenix has a severe peanut allergy, and from day one I felt completely safe leaving him with Ruth. She went above and beyond to ensure his safety, checking ingredients meticulously, avoiding any products that might contain traces of nuts, and even researching allergy-friendly baking recipes so he would never feel left out.
Every morning, Phoenix looked forward to going to Ruth’s. Whether it was playgroup, the zoo, music sessions, or the wonderful weekly activities she organised, he was always excited. And her indoor play was just as thoughtful: from baking to sensory exploration and motor skills games, every day was filled with creativity and care.
As a parent, I always felt supported. Ruth has wonderful tools and a deep understanding of childhood development, she’s there for the children and their parents alike. For two years, she was our steady, loving support system, and even now, we remain in touch.
If I ever need a childminder again, I wouldn’t think twice. I would choose Ruth over any nursery. She offers something truly special: a home away from home.

Ruth was a fantastic childminder for the year and half my daughter was with her. From the very first moment, we felt at ease knowing our child was in such caring, capable hands. Ruth provides a nurturing, safe, and enriching environment that encouraged our child's growth and development. Whether it's the creative activities, educational games Ruth ensured my daughter had a great experience for the year and half she was with her.
If you're looking for a kind, dedicated childminder, we recommend her.

Ruth being a family woman just knew the children so well and understood my daughters needs so quickly
I could write so much but my daughter became even more confident, language expanded & she potty trained so much easier because of Ruth’s expertise
My daughter is beyond milestones & also so interested in other children because of Ruth’s choices with taking them to many different spaces and activities
I felt so safe with Ruth and very much seen as a mother by her
Highly recommend this incredible woman because she’s amazing at her job but also a woman of heart

Thank you so much for the amazing review. We are all going to miss her very much.
Ruth has a natural gift for entertaining and caring for children. They sense her love and feel safe when around her. I have watched my 6 year old grow to love Ruth. She'll always talk excitedly about what she did with Ruth and the other children and cannot wait to return for more fun and games.
She provides a professional approach to her role and yet her set up is very homey and definitely put my mind at ease.
I recommend Ruth highly and we are lucky to have found her.

My 5 year daughter loves Ruth like a mum and is always asking when she can go back and see the family. Ruth arranges active, fun and stimulating days for the children which they love. Ruth is always accommodating and nothing is too much to help you. I am a single dad and I don’t know what I would have done without her advice, support and love.

There’s not enough space to write about how wonderful Ruth has been as a childminder to my 5 year old!
She is a very warm, friendly and welcoming person and looked after my daughter like she was her own.
My daughter loved going to Ruth’s and the only reason she stopped was due to the pandemic. My daughter enjoyed the indoor and outdoor activities, food, and developed a bond with Ruth’s own children.
Ruth always communicated well with me (she’s very transparent and open) and I always felt that my daughter was in safe hands.
Ruth provides lovely, healthy meals and has a very laidback, loving approach. A real home away from home. Ruth would pick my daughter up from school - always punctual - and she also made sure my daughter did the homework I gave her, and helped her get ready for her gymnastics lessons.
I would 100% recommend Ruth for childcare. She’s excellent!

Our daughter has been with Ruth from the age of 9 months, up until now (she is now just under 2). Ruth has been incredibly caring, kind and supportive with her. She clearly enjoys her job as a childminder and spending time with children, is always full of ideas of outings and crafts & activities, and has always communicated with us very well. During lockdown, Ruth has been a lifeline for our family - managing to take care of our daughter while homeschooling her two daughters, without it impacting the quality of her care. She has a large garden full of nooks & crannies for little ones to explore, and under her care our daughter has developed great language and numerical skills - pushed no doubt by Ruth's conversation, and her two older daughters who have inspired our little one a lot.
Her house is clean and Margot has enjoyed the home-cooked food and numerous toys and play.
I would highly recommend Ruth as a childminder, she has been a rare find and has provided a lot of love, learning and caring for our daughter over the months.

We were only with Ruth for a couple of months before the coronavirus outbreak cut things short, but in that time she provided a safe, clean and stimulating environment for our one year-old and by the end of that time he had settled well into his new routine. Ruth is great at organising fun, educational activities for the children and provides lots of opportunities for them to explore books, music, singing, crafts, sensory play, outdoor play etc. As well as taking him out to local playgroups and playgrounds, her home set-up is fantastic, with a huge garden complete with apparatus, mud kitchen etc. She provided lots of opportunities for him to practise walking, which he has now mastered. In addition Ruth’s two school-aged daughters love to play with him, and we really like the fact that he has an opportunity to interact with different aged children.
