About Me
I am a passionate and dedicated professional committed to developing the whole child — academically, socially, emotionally and culturally. No request is too big; I go above and beyond to engage your child and nurture an intrinsic love for learning. I create sessions that are fun, memorable and interactive, while helping children build confidence, self-belief and a strong sense of achievement.
My approach is caring and nurturing, built on the belief that children learn best when they feel safe, understood and supported — and I strive to be that trusted person for every child I work with. I can provide tutoring within your home and bring five years of classroom teaching experience across Reception, Year 1, Year 2 and Year 3.
Whether your child needs support to close gaps in their learning or is already secure and ready for greater challenge, I tailor each session to meet their individual needs. I support pupils in working towards age-related expectations, while also providing opportunities for mastery and deeper understanding where appropriate.
I have a strong understanding of the primary curriculum and take a personalised approach to tutoring. I research each child’s school context, including curriculum intentions and long-term planning, so that sessions align closely with what they are learning in class. This ensures continuity, builds confidence and helps children make meaningful progress over time.

Doing home learning with my child was almost impossible too many distractions and he just lacked attentiveness. After trialling At least 4 different Tutors,Miss Laffey was the one . Not only does she have the enthusiasm and love for teaching but she has a very warming and generous personality . Unbelievably she is amazing when it comes to tutoring my child, from struggling to keep his attention for 10 minutes or less sometimes , Miss Laffey has the mind blowing capability of tutoring him for 2hours that itself should say it all . I am in awe of her teaching skills and the resources she provides its almost as if he is in a classroom ( thats incredibly fun) . My son asks about her and has developed an immensely positive attitude towards learning. Miss Laffey has sparked and has brought to surface his fullest potential and great skills relating to his learning but is also aware of his weaknesses and does her very best in rectifying them and building his confidence . We are so lucky and grateful to have an Incredible Tutor and look forward to our future sessions . I have never seen anyone love and possess so much passion for their job as much as Miss Laffey.
