About Me

I am an enthusiastic, hardworking individual who strives to increase my skills and knowledge with every experience I encounter.

My approach to childcare is based on ensuring children are engaged in fun learning experiences, below are a few examples.

I have a very creative mindset and believe it is in very important to install creativity in both a child’s education and play. For example, art and crafts are something I like to do in my own time and thoroughly enjoy doing with the children. Letting their imaginations run wild, often resulting in thought provoking or humorous stories is a wonderful way to develop communication skills. Activities such as baking or den building, etc. are also part of this creative outlet and are activities that I consistently do with the children in my care.

The outdoors is a big part of my lifestyle and I believe should be a big part of children’s lifestyles too. Walks, going to the park, bugs hunts are all part of experiencing the outdoors - children should be children, it’s okay to get a bit muddy!

I also have a very keen interest in music. I sing and play Flute and Guitar. I have seen many times children immerse themselves in music. Seeing babies as young as few months old respond to music is special. I feel that music helps a child’s development in both language and confidence. I also see music as a comforting resource for children, helping sooth in times of distress.

I also have experience of working in educational childcare settings and currently work as an ESL teacher. I am comfortable helping children with school and extra-circular work. Making learning fun promotes passion within children and makes learning more effective.

In summary, I like to provide a well-rounded, wholesome experience for children in my care. I believe work, play and rest are key components of a child’s development and need to be tailored appropriately to a child’s individual requirements. I believe this approach provides a rewarding experience for the child, the carer and the parents.

My Experience

I am currently working as a freelance nanny and ESL teacher. I am doing part-time, online teaching which I can fit around any job, I teach people of all ages, nationalities and abilities. I am also working for some local families caring for babies and children.

Previously, I was the Nanny to two lovely children, 8 months and 3 years. This included full time care of the baby, and the 3-year-old while, he was not at pre-school. We did many activities together, crafting, cooking, attending groups, visiting farms, museums, forests ect. I also assisted in home schooling the then 5-year-old during lockdown. I stayed with them for a number of years I am still in contact and see the family. I extremely grateful for the relationship I built with them.

I worked as the sole career of two girls aged 6 and 9. This involved the day-to-day care of the girls, facilitating their morning routine, driving the children to and from school, preparing meals, help with homework and dance practice. The girls were particularly into art, so we did lots of drawing, jewelry making, painting, junk modelling and baking. We also spent a lot of time outside, playing games, building dens, having playful water fights and swimming. Watching the girls grow as people was extremely rewarding.

I worked at Deddington Pre-school as an Early years assistant in a setting for 3 and 4 year olds. Here I led both small group and whole class activities designed to educate through play. I helped with the daily planning of activities, as well as, adapting actives to the children’s unique needs.

I have also worked at Deddington Nursery with 2 and 3-year olds. Here we involve ourselves in the children’s play in order to increase language, memory, recall and social skills. Due to children of this age having a range of different abilities I adapted myself to work in the most effective way with different children. It is also essential to be flexible and creative to work with children who learn in different ways.

My first experience working with children was gained through babysitting when I was in my mid-teens. I worked with lots of children ranging from 5months to 11 in age. I really enjoyed making these children feel comfortable, have fun, grow and develop.
