About Me
Hi my name is Abi!
I am an all inclusive Ofsted registered childminder who offers the government funding for 9 months, 2 years, 3 and 4 year olds. I can offer the stretch hours all year round, 3 days a week for all children doing 30 hours. Or term time for children doing 15 hours.
I live in Katherine park in Corsham, I have 2 of my own children that attend The Corsham school. We live close to walkable parks, lakes, woods and open space. My playroom opens out to a secured walled garden which allows free flow play when weather permits with lots of space to bring activities outdoors. We have 3 Guinea pigs that live outside, who love to be fed and have cuddles.
I feel it’s important that all children have the opportunity to experience both indoor and outdoor play. I practice both structured play and the Curiosity approach, so that the children have stimulating and varied activities throughout the day. We have lots of places of interest locally, which are also a short drive away. We have a shared childminders allotment which provides space for exploring, planting, imaginative play in the mud kitchen area and to learn about the natural world.
I provide lots of fun-filled activities in a safe and caring environment and follow the EYFS.
Recently I have started to provide colour coded clothes for all children when out and about, we have turquoise t-shirts, fleeces, waterproof and hats.
Each term I send out planning of all the topics and themes we will be covering. This is sent via the Seesaw app, where each family will receive an individual QR code, where you can access weekly pictures of your children and what they have been doing during their time in my setting. Also any up coming, news, info and events that are of interest.
My Experience
I have over 25 years' experience in childcare, which includes working as a Childminder and at an early years forest school. Prior to this I worked as a Play Development Worker, and a Senior Practioner in a children's centre around Bristol and Bath. Also working in a local busy pre-school.
I have experience of working with children from birth to 15 years.
My Qualifications
I am an Outstanding Ofsted registered childminder with the following qualifications:
* CACHE Understanding how to set up a home based childcare service.
*NNEB (nursery nursing).
*GNVQ in Health and Social Care.
*TQUK level 2 Understanding the safe handling of medication in health and social care.
*Advanced Pediatric First Aid.
*Food and Hygiene.
*Level 3 Safeguarding and protecting children, young people or vulnerable adults.
I have also undertaken training in Autism, basic Makaton and asthma awareness.
My Availability
My availabilities are Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays only.
Open hours 8.30am-4.30pm
My Fees
- Childminding from £6.50 per hour
My fees are £6.50 per hour for non funded hours. Fees will be increasing to £7.00
from April 2026
My Local Schools
