My Summary

My Experience

I have worked within nurseries for 17 years as a nursery nurse. I have also worked in a respite unit for childen with additional needs. I was recently a nanny for a little girl with down syndrome. Previous to that I was a nanny for another little girl. I am currently a nanny in the west end for a lovely family with a lovely little girlI who has just started walking and finding her own wee personality. The family situation is changing this is the onky reason Im searching for a new post
. I have done voluntarry work over the years with all age of children. During my time as a nursery nurse i worked mainly with children aged 0 to 2 but I also worked with all other ages including afterschool aged children.
My past role was caring for a great little girl who has down syndrome as her nanny. I am competant in Makaton and used it with her initially a few words then used more and more including songs, colours, animals and food but she moved on now to talking. I have helped encourage her to grow and learn alongside her family.

The little girl I nanny for now is very sweet. She was crawling when i started but now walking. She enjoys arts and crafts, messy play, drawing, playing with her toys, reading and using her new found physical skills. I take her to the toddler group in her Church and other groups where we dip in and out of. I also take her out individualy to places she enjoys like parks, soft plays, gymnastics, museums, walks and happy to go anywhere she will enjoy. I also do things with her at home including crafts, messy play, play based learning, stories, songs, I take care of her needs and help provide a stimulating environment for her. While I'm here I provide care and support , personal care, bathing and cooking and help provide a varied diet alongside her Mum. We have a good relationship and communication is always open. What I do is don gently and kindly. I do lots of fun things with her that she enjoys but also there is time for quiet times. My full attention and time is given to her and her developmental stage and needs.

My Qualifications

I am qualified as a nursery nurse and also have an hnc in social care. I have makaton training, peg feeding training, moving and handling training and have done training on sensory play, down syndrome, dealing with difficult epelepsy and autism training.

My Availability

I would need to give at least 4 weeks notice

My Fees

• Nannying from £14.00 per hour (gross)

Negotiable depending on needs of the family.
