My Experience

Since the sweet age of 16 years old when I started babysitting and I am the eldest of four children. I have 20 years experience with 0-25 year olds in a wide range of childcare settings like private day nurseries for eight years 2007-2015 ,pre-schools,volunteer work, plenty of SEND experience with teenagers in a Academy school for six months and school holiday respite care working for a charity. Other schools bank work, after school clubs, church youth clubs and youth /family camps and groups.

I was a children’s and family worker at two churches for four years 2014-2018.Running Sunday groups like messy church and volunteering in the primary school to read with children. I have volunteered in a pre-school in Severn beach for two years 2014-2016 and brownies and ran parent and toddler groups in two churches for four years 2014-2018

Worked for Action for children Cornwall S.P.A.C.E charity providing short breaks to families with SEND children 2019-2022 in Cornwall and then moved to East Devon.

Current work
Currently working part time Tuesday and Wednesday with unaccompanied asylum seeking children as a support worker since October 2022- present. My DBS is up to date on the updating system until September 2026. My son is at nursery these days.

BTEC National Diploma in Early year’s level Three awarded in 2007

BA Hons Degree (Level 6) In Applied Theology, Children, Families and Community work rewarded 2:1 in 2018.

Experience
20 years experience in all childcare industries.I have worked with ages 3 months- 25yr olds and children 5yrs-25yrs with SEND needs.

Privately Nannied while pregnant in 2020-2021 for a three year old boy in Goonhavern near Newquay, Cornwall.Assisting mum with cleaning, food shopping as she didn't drive and mothers help as she was a single parent.

Also, privately Nannied July 2024- December 2024 for a 12 month old girl. Locally just outside Ottery st mary on Thursdays 7:45am-3pm. Also did some cleaning (kitchen and bathrooms)

DBS Checked and on the updating system. September 2025-2026

Work now
I go back to my part-time job after maternity leave Tuesdays and Wednesdays working for Fusion Independence in Whipton, Exeter in a residential home as a support worker. From 13th January 2026.

Supporting mainly young boys 16-23yrs old from different countries like Iran,Sudan, Afghanistan,Turkey and girls from Eritria. I assist them with independent living skills and life skills for example filling out forms for driving licence, assisting with there learning at Exeter College or the Globe education center. Attending health appointments and solicitor appointments.
Driving to appointments and shopping for the household items.

Assisting with communication teaching English and using a translator app and some summer lessons in summer holidays. Cleaning the residential communal areas. Signposting for mental health and well being needs to counsellors and therapists. Researching things for them like finding and applying for work, writing CVs. Generally at their home in the day for everyday assistance 10-5pm.

Attended online English lessons with Sudanese boy for a few weeks.
Dealt with a few different and challenging scenarios affecting a young person's safety and well being a few times.

I'm available ONLY one day a week either Mondays, Thursdays or Fridays from January 2026 with my 11 month old son.
Also offering cleaning as additional job.

I have to collect my daughter from Ottery primary school at 3:15pm (if local) then can have child afterwards as well if needed. This worked well with old private nannying job
