About Me
Hi, my name is Kate, I am married with 3 little boys; George, chalrie and Harrison. I am an Ofsted registered childminder and can offer term-time all day childcare, as well as before and after school care for children who attend Howley Grange school and Lapal preschool.
We live in a semi-detached property on Howley Grange road, less than a 100m from the school. We have a big garden which the children can explore, with a variety of garden toys and play equipment, as well as a lovely, large playroom stocked with a large variety of toys sure to spark children’s interests.
Having three young children of my own I understand that it can be a little stressful and overwhelming for parents to leave their children with someone for the first time. I am more than happy for parents and children to come and join us at our home or at the playgroups we attend to get to know us. To assist with the transition for both children and parents, I offer settling in sessions for children to gradually get used to the new surroundings and to become familiar with myself and the other children.
My Experience
I have worked in several nurseries and schools during my time at college and university including; Moat Farm primary school, St Hubert’s primary school, Wiggles and Giggles nursery and Happy days nursery.
I also worked as a nursery nurse at Victoria Nursery for 3 years.
However, my greatest experience comes from having children of my own, caring for them and their needs and developing fun and educational activities to further their learning and development.
My children are very sociable and love having friends to play. Our house is always full of children, with their cousins here at the weekends, and the children I mind here during the week, and they have developed some wonderful friendships.
I provide a happy, fun, safe and homely environment. We enjoy doing lots of creative activities and imaginative play and love to play and explore outdoors. We enjoy attending playgroups, soft play areas, disco ducks dance sessions and parks and farms on a regular basis.
After a busy, structured day at school, after school care is free play. Whilst a variety of activities and games are provided for after school including; arts and crafts, playdoh, Duplo/Lego and outdoor play, children are free to choose whether they wish to participate or would prefer to play with toys of their choice. If they prefer a quieter time after school, they are welcome to choose from the selection of jigsaws, books and magazines that are changed regularly.

Degree of Bachelor of Arts with honours in Childhood, Family and Education studies
BTEC level 3 diploma in Children's Care, Learning and Development
Paediatric first aid plus level 3
Level 2 award in food safety in catering

FGM: Recognising and preventing

EYFS learning and development
My Availability
My normal opening hours are term time Monday-Friday 07.30-17. I 00. However, I aim to be flexible to meet your needs so please discuss with me if you require anything outside of my usual opening hours.

We have been using Kate's service since our eldest daughter started school last September. Our daughter is a shy and quiet girl, who gets very nervous in new and unfamiliar surroundings. Kate provided a safe and calm environment in which our daughter was able to feel comfortable. Kate's thorough induction process meant that our daughter was able to get to know her, her family and her home before she started at school which was really important for us. Since then our daughter has grown in confidence at Kate's and has really enjoyed the many fun, engaging activities and experiences that Kate has provided for her. Kate herself, is very kind, friendly and approachable. She is flexible in her approach and so clearly cares about the children in her care. We would definitely recommend her to any parents looking for childcare, your children would be very lucky.

Kate has been looking after my two girls after school for the past year. They love going to Kate's house, not wanting to come home afterwards! She always makes sure they have had a healthy snack and always has a new idea up her sleeve to engage them. I couldn't recommend her enough. When my girls are with Kate, I know they are safe and happy. Great care provider x

I used Kate for my two year olds childcare, like any parent I was worried and anxious about leaving Bonnie but she absolutely loved Kate's! She settled so quickly, made lots of friends and loved going to playgroups and disco ducks every week. Her confidence grew massively, as did her social skills. I couldn't recommend Kate enough.

Kate has been looking after my two year old Erin and the change in her since being in Kate's care has been incredible. I was worried when we needed to find someone for Erin when her mother was returning to work as she had never been seperated from her mom and was very clingy, refusing even to be left with family. We took a long time in our search for the right carer until we met Kate and the search was over instantly. We knew we'd found the right fit. Erin goes to Kate 3 days a week and she gets so excited now on those days that she is spending the day with her best friend. Her confidence has grown beyond any of our expectations and also her manners, willingness to share and wanting to be kind and helpful.
I'm very protective over my little girl as any parent would be and want only the best for her and in terms of child minding, Kate is the best!
