About Me
I am an Ofsted Registered Childminder located in the Goodrington, Paignton area. The house is situated 10 minutes walk from Roselands Primary School (3 min drive) and a 15 minute walk from White Rock Primary School (6 min drive).
I live with my husband and my daughter who will be 2 in October 2023.
I provide a home from home experience for your baby/ child in the sense of an extension of your parental care, by providing a happy, nurturing, clean and secure environment. I have been a busy Childminder in Solihull for 4 years and I received my first Ofsted graded inspection of GOOD in July 2022.
I have now moved back to my hometown Paignton, Devon and I am setting up my Childminding setting ready to take on new children in October 2023.
I hold Ofsted recognised qualifications for childminding and ensure that the children engage in a wide range of activities over the course of their week following the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) guidelines. I do craft activities, sensory play, baking, play in the garden and I also have lots of age-related toys which are safety checked and cleaned on a regular basis. Other activities include: jigsaw puzzles, copying words/ writing practice, nursery rhyme singing and story time. I ensure I update toys and activities to suit the childrens’ interests, learning and development. The enclosed garden includes numerous outside equipment such as a playhouse, slides, tricycles, little tike cars, water tray and sandpit. I take the children for walks and have outings to the park, play areas, library and play groups.
My home consists of a open plan lounge-kitchen- conservatory which is used as a fully equipped playroom. I also have a downstairs toilet and a secure garden which includes a garden room which is set up as another playroom.
I ensure I keep up to date with my safeguarding and paediatric first aid training. I have childcare insurance with PACEY which is an organisation that ensures quality assurance.
I provide all meals and I have experience catering for milk, gluten, and nut allergies including other dietary requirements such as vegan, vegetarian and halal.
Meals include breakfast, snack, a home cooked meal for lunch, dessert and tea.

My Experience
I have worked as a Childminder for 4 years now. I also have a variety of experience of working with both children and adults, including those with mental health difficulties, physical and learning disabilities. I have enjoyed all of my roles which included being an Assistant Psychologist, an Assistant Childminder, a Teacher Assistant, Specialist Carer Worker, Youth Worker, Children support worker at a domestic violence refuge, a Carer/ Support Worker for children and adults with physical and learning disabilities. I am more than happy to discuss more about my experience with you.
My Qualifications
- Level 3 CPD Accredited Ofsted Recognised Childminding Course which covered all Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)

- BTEC Level 3 in Health and Social Care which included placements in childcare settings and assignments in childcare and child development.

Katie looked after my son and daughter from 8 months old; my son for 4 years and my daughter for 2 years.
Katie offers a truly warm, compassionate home from home in which my children have truly thrived. She has helped mould them into polite and clever little people. I thought I would struggle finding someone I trusted to care for my babies when I returned to work, but it was apparent very quickly that I had nothing to worry about with Katie. I’m so sad she has moved on to a new area, but any children in her care will be very lucky!

Words can't describe how blessed I was to have found Katie, my little boy was with Katie for 1 year, he started with her at 6 months old. From our very 1st meeting I knew he would be happy in her care. After the 1st settling session all my worries melted away it was like leaving him with a family member. Every day he went there he was happy loved and cared for in the way I would have cared for him myself. As he grew and knew where he was the pure excitement he had each morning as we pulled up outside made my day so much easier, as I knew he was happy to be there in fact he cried when I came to pick him up.
If you're looking for a home from home experience you will definitely have that with Katie.

Katie is an amazing childminder, so kind and caring. She is completely professional and goes above and beyond for the children and their learning needs. My son was in her childcare setting from the age of one and absolutely loves and adores Katie as do I. He is Gluten Free/Wheat Free/Egg Free and Katie went out of her way cater for his allergies and ensure that he was eating the same as the rest of the children so he didn’t feel left out. I felt completely comfortable leaving my most precious possession in her amazing care as she makes you feel at ease. As a parent you are constantly updated with pictures on how your child’s day is going and you are also given regular progress reports on their learning and development. My sons days we filled with a mixture of developmental curriculum tasks and free play.
Katie is amazing her setting is a home from home and any child in her care is very lucky

Katie is a truly amazing childminder, she does great job to keep children safe and I have never worried about leaving my baby with Katie. My baby loved spending time at Katie's place , always running to me with a smile on her face.
For me as a parent there was a great communication with Katie, she was helpful, giving good advises and she was very creative to keep baby active.I highly recommend Katie!

After a few bumps in the road with previous childminder, my son moved to be with Katie. Within weeks we seen a massive improvement from my son which gave me and my partner massive confidence. she goes above and beyond with all kids and does lovely art and craft activities and has brought home gifts for fathers day, birthdays and mothers day. We get regular updates on WhatsApp too. I am so happy how my son has learnt so many skills and adapted to being with other kids. a very much home from home setting which Is great. Couldn't reccomend Katie anymore. She's a great childminder but a great friend too.
