About Me
My name is Gigi, I'm 27 years old and I live in Coventry. I have 4+ years of experience in childcare, having spent two and a half years at a Worcestershire nursery and having worked as a nanny with multiple families since. I have a clear and passionate understanding of child development and the EYFS framework. The majority of my nursery experience is based around 2-3 years olds, while my experience as a nanny has been based around children from 10 months old to 12 years. I take a laid-back and fair approach to my caring. I've previously studied acting, I enjoy keeping active, I have a passion for food and nutrition, and I pride myself on an open mind. I like to be active and adventurous with the children in my care. I'm always up for a good laugh while I take my role seriously.
My Experience
I began my childcare career in a nursery where I worked for 2 and a half years, having left to pursue a degree at Coventry University.
I decided to become a nanny while studying; working with a Warwickshire family of two children, aged 7 and 9. I worked with the family from 2019 until I, unfortunately, had to rethink my role as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Since then, I have worked with multiple families of diverse backgrounds, and cared for children of all ages.
I have babysat for several families in the past, having frequently babysat for a family of 6 children in my late teens - ages ranging from 1 to 13.
I have first-hand experience with children within the home through siblings.
I am well informed of safeguarding, equality and diversity, preventative measures, British values and health and safety measures regarding childcare. I have twice completed a paediatric first aid course within the last six years and, although the certification is now obsolete, I am more than happy to undertake the course again.
My Qualifications
Level 2 Diploma for the Early Years Educator (I have completed the relevant work to gain level 3, but unfortunately couldn’t gain the official qualification. I would be more than happy to go into the ins and outs of this)
