About Me
Hi I'm Rachel and I am 31 years old. I live with my husband and my son who is 11 years old. We love going out as a family and having days out to places such as the park, farms, the cinema, bowling, trampoline parks etc. I have a 2:1 degree in Childhood and Youth Studies which I gained at Teesside University. I believe all children deserve to be in an environment where they are able to thrive and to be surrounded by adults who can enable and promote this and cater to each child's individual needs.
My Experience
I currently work as a Play Support and Youth Worker where I work with children aged 5-18 years. I have been in this position since March 2018. Previously I worked in a private day nursery, where I worked from April 2015- March 2018. I have completed training on safeguarding children, child development, working with children with SEND, Understanding Autism, Understanding Behaviour that Challenges etc. I have experience working with children with ASD, anger management issues, cystic fibrosis, speech and language delay and learning difficulties.
My Qualifications
I have a 2:1 BA Honours Degree in Childhood and Youth Studies and previous to gaining this qualification, I completed my Level 3 BTEC National Diploma in Children's Care, Learning and Development. I have certificates in Food Hygiene, Drug Awareness, FGM Awareness, Understanding Autism, Understanding Behaviour that Challenges and Safeguarding Children. I also have 9 GCSE's A*-C grades.
My Availability
I am available 1pm- 6pm on Mondays and from 8:30am-5:30pm Tuesday-Friday.
