About Me

Hi my name is Samantha Lyon, i live in Evesham with my Husband, daughters and small dog.

I'm a dedicated and compassionate Childcare Professional with a Level 3 qualification and over a decade of experience across private nanny and nursery settings. Known for a polite, clear-spoken manner and a friendly, outgoing approach to building strong relationships with both children and families. Highly skilled in implementing EYFS frameworks, tracking developmental milestones, and planning engaging, educational activities for children aged 0–13. A motivated leader with a Platinum Scouting award who thrives on challenges and is committed to providing high-quality, helpful, and caring support in any environment.

I enjoy encouraging children to explore and gain confidence with new challenges, I have carried out this in my many years of being a childcare practitioner, young leader and a cub leader. I also like to carry out different activities with the children such as baking, swimming and arts and crafts.

I know a wide variety of healthy meals for babies, toddlers and young children. I also can make some tasty healthy treats with the children during the week for them to enjoy.

I am looking for a full/part time position, live out and I would like a position in Warwickshire, Worcestershire, Cotswold or Gloucestershire

My Experience

In May 2019 I went on maternity leave to have my own baby and have been enjoying my time as a mummy, i'm now looking at going back to work with something that fits around my family if possible.

Employment

September 2017 - May 2019 I was a nanny looking after a 16 month old boy and a new born baby in the December of 2017, I had sole charge and shared care alongside mum of both the boys, I implemented consistent daily routines to meet individual child needs and support developmental milestones and going along to groups and planning activities to help with their development. I also carried out daily housework for the boys such as washing and cleaning/tidying of the play room and eating area.

June 2017 - September 2017 I did some cover work at a local nursery helping in both the baby and pre school room carrying out observations and tracking children's development and helping to plan and adapt activities to encourage the development of all the children that attended.

March 2016 - June 2017 I worked at a nursery in the baby room working with children from the age of 3 months up until they turned 2, I was a key worker and tracked the children's development in their personal files, I was also able to cover in the other rooms when needed, looking after children until they started school, doing a wide variety of activities and helping to progress their personal development and meet their next step goals.

May 2015 - March 2016: I worked at Avon Nusery in the pre-school room working with children from 3 years until they go to school, i loved my job and seeing the children progress and develop and being proud of what they have achieved. I also did a year in the baby room looking after many different children aged between 6 - 18 months. I had key children that I took observations on and completed their learning journeys that are linked to their pathway profiles (EYFS) this shows where they are up to and areas that need to be improved. I followed the daily routine of each child to the best of my ability to make sure all their individual needs were met.

January 2013 - May 2015: i was a live out nanny in Leamington Spa looking after twin girls from when they were 6 months old until they started nursery, I looked after the girls and planned many different interesting and exciting activities i also did the girls cooking and cleaning.

October 2011 - January 2013: I worked at a local nursery helping nursery staff to carry out activities and I also ran activities for the children to gain confidence, making their snacks and helping to settle children down for their naps.

March - September 2011: live in nanny in London I looked after a little boy, 18 months. My role was to entertain and follow the routine. I carried out art activities, baking, went for walks and played in the park.

July 2010 - March 2011: I worked at a local nursery helping nursery staff to carry out activities and I also ran activities for the children to gain confidence, making their snacks and helping to settle children down for their naps.

November 2009 – January 2010: Past Times Retail Store, Stratford-upon-Avon
I was trained as a sales assistant, helping to deal with varying problematic situations on a regular basis.

Volunteering:

2001 – 2013 : Cub Scout Leader,

I was a Cub Scout Leader working in a team of male and female leaders of all different ages we looked after children between the ages of 7 ½ to 10 ½. We planned different activities and camps offering a wide range of activities for the children that they possibly wouldn’t experience if we weren’t there providing it.
