My Summary
About Me
Hi, I’m a warm, friendly and reliable childcare professional and mum to a wonderful 4-year-old boy. Being a parent myself has given me a real understanding of how important trust, routine and nurturing care are in the early years.
For the past two years, I’ve worked with a charity in Larne supporting disabled children and their families. This role strengthened my experience in inclusive childcare, patience, communication and adapting care to meet individual needs. Supporting children with a wide range of abilities has been incredibly rewarding and has deepened my passion for working with young children in a caring, supportive environment.
I particularly enjoy working with babies and toddlers, supporting their development through play, routine and positive interaction. I’m now working towards becoming a registered childminder, with the goal of offering a safe, inclusive and nurturing setting where children can grow, learn and feel secure.
I’m trustworthy, dependable and understand the importance of clear communication with parents. My aim is to provide high-quality childcare that supports children’s development while giving families peace of mind that their child is happy, safe and well cared for.
My Experience
I’m a mum to a 4-year-old son, which has given me invaluable, hands-on experience in early years care, routines, development and emotional support from a parent’s perspective. I understand how important consistency, patience and trust are when caring for young children.
Alongside this, I worked for two years with a charity in Larne supporting disabled children and their families. This role gave me strong experience working with children with additional needs, adapting activities, communicating clearly, and creating inclusive, supportive environments where every child feels safe and valued.
I have longstanding childcare experience from a young age with family/friends babies and young children.
I spent 3 summers working at a summer camp in Ohio from May to August, caring for children typically aged 4–10 years. My role involved supporting children throughout their full day, from morning routines to evening wind-down and overnight , while ensuring they felt safe, included and were having fun through structured activities and play.
I also completed a GCSE and A-Level in Child Development/Early childhood studies, which included a detailed child study. Over a six-month period, I spent regular time with a 2-year-old, observing and supporting her development and tracking progress across key developmental milestones.
