Hello, my name is Lily, and I am a dedicated educator and specialist tutor based in Oxfordshire.
I hold a BA (Hons) in Primary Education from Oxford Brookes University, graduating in 2024 with Upper Second Class Honours (2:1). Through both my academic studies and hands-on teaching placements in local Oxfordshire primary schools, I have developed a strong understanding of the Primary National Curriculum, effective inclusion practices, and the principles of child development and psychology. Growing up as a young carer for my older brother, who has Down syndrome, gave me an early and meaningful understanding of diverse learning needs, cognitive difference, and the importance of empathy and patience. Professional Experience:
The Parasol Project (2012–2020)
I began as a volunteer in 2012 and later worked as a Playworker, supporting children and young people with a wide spectrum of SEND, including autism, ADHD, Down syndrome, and complex physical disabilities.
My responsibilities included:
-Facilitating engaging and accessible 1:1 and group activities
-Providing personal care when required
-Supporting emotional regulation and de-escalating challenging situations
-Building trusting, supportive relationships with highly vulnerable children
This role strengthened my ability to communicate clearly, show patience, and remain calm, consistent, and nurturing in high-pressure situations.

I currently work as Chief Operations Officer, Deputy Safeguarding Lead, and Specialist SEMH Tutor/Educator, supporting children and adolescents aged 7–16 with a range of additional needs, including:
-Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
-Autism and ADHD
-Anxiety-related school avoidance
-Low confidence and disrupted education
I design and deliver tailored, trauma-informed learning programmes, adapting both curriculum content and teaching strategies to meet each student’s unique needs. I lead both 1:1 and group sessions, focusing on building trust, reducing barriers to learning, and promoting emotional wellbeing alongside academic progress.
