About Me
I have worked in early years for over 30 years . I am based in Atherton opposite the train station and on a main route to the motorway or Bolton . I live with my husband and our two cats. I have two grown up children who have flown the nest and have a grand daughter ,plus a grand dog called Cheater.
My passion is early years and this is why I decided to do childminding as I love watching and joining in while children play, learn and develop.
I have a child led planning in the moment approach while building on my interest in the curiosity, hygge, natural play and forest school approaches.
Don't expect your child to be clean all the time, as I love to set up messy play activities and will be out in the fresh air on a bear hunt or making a den and definitely looking for some mini beasts.
I like to let children explore the world around them and this means we go out daily .

My Experience
I have always volunteered in schools and help people out with childcare over the years. I have ran a playgroup and as my children went to school I completed my Nursery nurse training and started working within schools and nurseries . I worked at a primary school which I left after 22 years in Dec.
While at this primary school I gained my BA Hons degree in Early Childcare studies and worked as a HLTA in early years and key stage 1 planning and teaching . I have alot of experience with planing in the moment activities and love to follow the children's interests .
I have completed an access to forest schools training, plus completed some courses on hygge and the curiosity approach . These are approaches I wish to develop further .
I decided to leave education as I wanted to care and nurture children not teach them. I wanted to let them learn through play more as I am a very strong believer in this and feel children learn best at their own pace and development . Therefore I like to think I am the guide and support they need on their learning journey gaining the skills to move on successfully in life.

CACHE Diploma in nursery nursing
Foundation degree in early years
BA Hons degree Early years childhood studies .
