I am an OFSTED-registered childminder, rated Good (September 2025), offering a calm, nurturing, and enriching environment where children feel safe, confident, and truly cared for.
My name is Ophelia, and as a mother of three, I understand how important it is for parents to feel complete trust and peace of mind when choosing childcare. I provide a welcoming, home-from-home setting where every child is valued as an individual and supported to thrive emotionally, socially, and developmentally.
My practice is guided by the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), with thoughtfully planned activities that encourage curiosity, independence, and a love of learning. I place strong emphasis on positive relationships, emotional security, and gentle routines, helping children grow in confidence while feeling happy and settled in my care.
My Experience
I bring over 13 years of professional experience as a childminder, as well as working with children across a range of early years and educational settings. This includes time spent as a Teaching Assistant within schools and experience in nursery environments, giving me a well-rounded understanding of children’s needs at every stage of early development.
As a registered childminder, I am committed to delivering high-quality care through continuous professional development and reflective practice. I hold relevant childcare qualifications, am fully DBS checked, and paediatric first aid trained, ensuring children’s safety and wellbeing are always my top priority.
I offer funded childcare places, including 15 or 30 hours for eligible 3 and 4-year-olds and 15 hours for eligible 2-year-olds, and I am registered for Tax-Free Childcare. I also offer flexible hours to support families with busy and varied schedules.

- Level 3 Diploma for Children and Young People's Workforce (CYPOP5)
- Level 3 Teaching Assistant at Primary and Nursery school
- QCF Level 3 Diploma in Paediatric First Aid (Refreshed every 3 years)
- WRAP (Workshop to Raise Awareness of Prevent) course
- Partnership with Parents
- Promoting Positive Environments
- Designated Safeguarding Lead
- Food and Hygiene Certificate
- Gang and Social Media Awareness
and all relevant course to date which can be shown on request.
My Availability
I currently have limited childcare spaces available.
I offer before-school, daytime, and after-school care from Monday to Friday, providing consistent and reliable support for working families.

I am able to collect children from local schools within the B29/B30 area, including:

Stirchley Primary School

My Fees
- Childminding from £9.50 per hour
My childcare fees start from £9.50 per hour or from £65 for a full day, depending on hours, age, and individual care requirements.
I offer a high-quality, personalised childcare service in a calm and nurturing home environment. I am always happy to discuss arrangements to ensure the best fit for your child and family.

Ophelia is a lovely childminder. She has a huge garden with lots of activities for children. She takes them to playgroups, Forrest school and has a knowledge and experience with Primary school curriculum.

Ophelia has cared for my child from the age of 10 months. The setting has a warm, welcoming atmosphere with access to a range of activities and a garden, which my child loves. As well as social and emotional support, Ophelia provides educational activities that help the development of each child. My child also has the opportunity to visit playgroups and local parks. Ophelia also provides great feedback on what my child done, eaten and naps during the day. My child loves her time there, 5 stars!

My little one loved her time with Ophelia, she always had great fun and did lots of different activities. The facilities are great, and Ophelia is warm and clearly cares for the children she looks after. Ophelia focuses on educational activities that are tailored for the developmental stage of each child. I would highly recommend!

My daughter has been looked after by Ophelia for 7 months and she has been so happy and well cared for. The setting is a lovely home and garden with lots of fun activities for her to take part in. Ophelia made a lot of effort to help my daughter settle and makes sure to let me know every day what she's eaten, when she slept, and what activities they've done. She is a great childminder and I could not recommend her more highly.

Our daughter is now three and has been with Ophelia since she was 15 months. Ophelia has a lovely setting and is excellent at making a loving/caring relationships between her and my daughter and my daughter and her other children. As a result, our daughter loves going and is making great progress. They do a great range of activities both at home and also local Playgroups, classes and parks. We will be sending our son too when I return to work after maternity leave.
