Hi there!
A little about me: my name is Anisha and I am 22 years old. Following graduating from Bath University with a first in a BSc (hons) Sociology degree in 2022, I am now completing a Masters in Physiotherapy at University of Birmingham and will be graduating in July 2024. Having most recently done a 6 week placement at the Birmingham Children's hospital, I am interested in specialising long-term in paediatrics in the NHS so that I can help children recover from all kinds of injuries to help ensure they have the best quality of life. I enjoy in particular working with children from toddler ages upwards and am most comfortable looking after one child at a time so I can provide them with my undivided attention.
Currently, as I am still studying, I am looking for some permanent and/or part-time work to help me financially. I am happy to do one-off evenings or something more regular. I live local to Lichfield and can drive so I can make my own way to and from jobs but will not drive children to and from places. I am a friendly, sociable, patient girl and as described have relevant work experience in looking after children. As mentioned I most recently have been on a 6 week placement working with children in the neurology physiotherapy team at the Birmingham Children hospital working with a range of ages from babies to 17 years old. Additionally, for over a year, I have volunteered as a 'Befriender', whereby I spent time with and looked after a young disabled child once a week. Not only this, but I volunteered in a nursery for a short period whereby I planned lessons for children, interacted with them during play and was responsible for them whilst teachers were not present. Moreover, I worked as a volunteer English tutor to 12/13 year olds for 2 years during Sixth Form highlighting my abilities to communicate with children and further their education if necessary. Lastly, I have direct experience babysitting which I did in 2021-2022. From these experiences, I have learnt how to gain the trust and friendship of a child, how to communicate with different children of a range of ages, but also how to gain respect needed to be a confident and reliable babysitter. I am not afraid to be stern when it is necessary but I like to focus on bringing out the best in your children, whether that means focusing on play, education or sport.
Other relevant info: I have been vaccinated against COVID and the flu (December 2023). have a DBS document proving I can work with children and am happy to send/show it. My Experience
