About Me
I am an 22 year old girl from Kirriemuir, Angus. I have a full, clean driving license and my own car. I also have a full Disclosure Scotland certificate (I can bring this with me if you would like to see) and I am willing to take children to lessons, clubs and pick up from school.
A great deal of my life is spent working with or around people especially young people. I have a large family and lots of cousins ranging from 2 years old to 13 years old. From a very young age I have always wanted to pursue a career which works closely with children and found that caring for others is something I am very passionate about.
I have just graduated from a 4 year MA education course at Dundee University and have recently completed my fourth school placement in a Primary 6/7 class. I am currently teaching a multi-composite class of P4-7 with children aging from 7-12 at a small rural school.
I have grown up on a family farm and therefore I am a big fan of animals and the outdoors. I would therefore be willing to help walk/care for any family pets. I went to beavers, cubs and scouts. My favourite part was being outdoors and especially the camps!
I enjoy cooking and baking in my spare time and in sixth year at school I took Practical Hospitality and Health and Food technology. I completed national 5 hospitality with an A grade and completed my higher health and food technology with a C grade. I also have my Elementary food hygiene certificate. I am very capable of cooking all meals and can adapt to the children’s likes/dislikes or dietary needs. My assignment in my Higher Health and Food Technology was to create a meal for a young child with allergies. Through these courses I learnt about dietary needs and allergies therefore I am able to take these into account while looking after your children.
I also enjoy a variety of sports including hockey, basketball, swimming and especially football. I support my local teams Forfar Athletic and Dundee United and I quite often help in Forfar Athletics club shop to help raise funds. I play for the university team and previously played football for Forfar Farmington where I captained my team for two years.
My Experience
I have babysat for my family and friends and I am willing to help out when required. I regularly babysit for 6 different family’s ranging from 2 months old to 12 years old. This usually involves putting children to bed, making tea, going for walks, picking up/dropping off from school or nursery and helping with homework/reading. I’m also more than happy to take kids out on day trips if requested by the parents. I’m sure these parents would happily provide a reference if required. Over the past two years I have done a couple of over night stays while babysitting at a wedding. This included caring for a 5 month old baby for 2 nights.
During my final two years of school I completed level 5 and level 6 of the Sports Leader Award. Through this course I had special training to help me plan sports sessions for those with learning or physical difficulties and I was involved in running a Disability Scotland Sports event. This taught me how to adapt sessions to suit the needs of others. This course also involved me organising a range of sporting events across the area for the local schools such a cross country events and tournaments.
When at school I completed my bronze and silver Duke of Edinburgh awards which involved volunteering at the local beaver and cub units where I continued as a young leader until I started university. In sixth year I was chosen as a school house captain where I helped organise events for our school and community. Through these voluntary activities I completed 300 hours for the saltire awards and was given the honour of becoming a saltire ambassador in my school.
My experience in Primary schools and nursery’s are as follows; 1 week in a P3/4, 1 week in a school nursery, 6 months in a Primary 7 class (half a day a week), 2 full weeks in a Primary 5 (assisting class teacher and taking class/ group lessons), 4 full weeks in a Primary 4/5 (assisting class teacher, taking class/group lessons and 5 full days of sole responsibility), 1 full week in a nursery, 7 full weeks in a Primary 2 class (involved over 2 weeks worth of full responsibility), 11 full weeks in Primary 6/7 (involving 4 weeks of full responsibility). Experience of full time teaching noted above.

My Availability

My Fees
- Babysitting from £12.00 per hour
Fees will be dependent on the services you require, number/age of children and will take fuel expenses into account where necessary.

I have known Abbie for many years and she has looked after my girls since they were very young. She is very kind, honest and lots of fun, and my girls really enjoy spending time with her. Abbie is very capable and will take on other tasks such as making the tea, helping with homework and taking kids to activities. She is very approachable and professional and a lovely person to have around. I feel very confident in leaving my girls with Abbie and I know that she will provide a caring and fun enviroment for them.

Abbie looked after our 5 month old girl for a full weekend when we got married! She was great with our daughter, kept things clean and tidy as she went and was a lovely person to have around!

Abbie has worked for our family for over a year. We all are very fond of her- my 2 boys (5&6) can sometimes be a handful but Abbie has the skills, patience and experience to navigate any circumstances.
She is very kind and confident- she often plays outdoors with the children and is full of energy. Amongst other things she would assist my children with homework, go on walks with the dogs, undertake creative projects, cook dinner and do school runs.
She is 100% honest, reliable and trustworthy. Her communication skills are excellent and she is adaptable and intelligent.

Abbie has looked after my two kids (aged 8 & 9) many times.
She is friendly, polite, trustworthy, reliable and caring.
She has her own car which is great, she can pick them up from clubs and bring them back home.
She does lots of fun activities with them and makes sure they play outside for some fresh air too!
I really can’t rate Abbie highly enough.
