My Summary
About Me
I am an experienced Nanny with over 7 years in childcare.
I have my BA degree in childhood and youth studies which I thoroughly enjoyed studying alongside being a room manager in a nursery for the under 2 room.
My approach is calm, patient, and child-centered, with a strong focus on emotional wellbeing, developmental milestones, and open communication with parents. I’m confident in managing daily routines ,encouraging learning through play, and supporting children’s independence and creativity. I’m also reliable, trustworthy, and passionate about building long-term, positive relationships with families.
As a nanny , I am dedicated to providing a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment where every child feels valued, respected, and supported. I believe in creating a strong relationship with all children in my care that encourages children to thrive emotionally, socially, physically, and intellectually.
My childcare ethos is centred around the following key principles:
• Safety and Wellbeing: Every child’s safety and emotional wellbeing are my highest priorities. I create a secure space where children can explore with confidence.
• Individuality and Inclusion: I respect each child as a unique individual and celebrate diversity. I strive to meet the needs of all children, including those with additional needs, in an inclusive and supportive way.
• Learning Through Play: I believe that children learn best through play. I provide a rich variety of play-based activities that promote curiosity, creativity, and a love of learning.
• Positive Relationships: I build trusting, respectful relationships with children and their families. Open communication and partnership with parents are vital to supporting each child’s development.
• Encouraging Independence: I support children in becoming confident, resilient, and independent learners, while guiding them with empathy and patience.
• Outdoor and Nature Play: Daily outdoor experiences are important for healthy development. I encourage time spent in nature to build physical health, imagination, and environmental awareness. My favourite things to do outside include den building , tree climbing, picnics and looking for wildlife.
My Experience
I started working with children when I was 16 and it quickly become my passion!
I have over seven years of hands-on experience in childcare, including two years as a full-time nanny and two years managing a baby room in a busy nursery setting. My background has given me a strong foundation in early childhood development, particularly in caring for babies and toddlers. While managing the baby room, I was responsible for creating age-appropriate routines, supporting developmental milestones, and ensuring a safe, nurturing environment. As a nanny, I’ve provided dedicated, one-on-one care, building close, trusting relationships with both children and their families. I’m confident in handling a range of responsibilities, from feeding and sleep routines to play-based learning and emotional support. All of my job roles have been so rewarding and I have thoroughly enjoyed supporting children from their first steps all the way to starting school.

Jamie has been our Nanny on a Monday regularly for the past 6 months. She has been absolutely amazing! My kids adore her. She is reliable, fun and educational. She is so kind & caring too. She gives my kids their dinner, baths them & puts them to bed. I could not recommend Jamie enough.
