About Me
Working in a nursery gave me experience in caring for and providing educational activities for young babies to preschoolers within the criteria set out by The Department of Education. I gained my Level 3 Children’s Workforce and Educator Diploma while working there. Working with children in the foundation stage of their education I will incorporate the Montessori theory using everyday objects as teaching implements. I also like to incorporate the Forest School curriculum. I feel that the outdoors has lots of resources to build confidence and resilience in children. I can create activities and games to encourage mathematics and science learning.
Working in the social care setting gives you a greater sense of responsibility due to being a main carer. In this work, you are risk assessing continually. I am conscious of safety and prevent risk. However, I do believe in controlled risks for a child to strive and achieve. I understand the importance of imprinting and the continual provision of a safe nurturing environment. I am self-reflective in my practice and conscientious. I understand that each child is an individual with their own likes fears etc. I will adjust my working style to suit the children I’m working with.
My Experience
I have over fifteen years experience working with children. These roles have been a Nanny , Early years educator and baby room leader in a nursery and a Residential Social Worker. I have worked as a Nanny with children from 6 weeks to 12 years old. I worked in a nursery for 3 years. I worked with young people in care for over ten years.
