About Me
Coronavirus has created havoc with the educational progression of children, which will have a long term impact. It is vital that children are put back in the position they would have been had their education not been disrupted by — NOT JUST ONE, BUT TWO — lockdowns.
My style of teaching will, most importantly, help to re-engage your child in effective learning, which in turn will allow for effective ‘catch up’ of lost learning. This mean your child will be more confident going forward and so push on in their learning, rather than counting the cost of LOCKDOWN.
I believe education should be learning by exploration rather than filling of the mind. The most important question is WHY! This will allow for reasoning and problem solving. The power of reasoning will allow your child to easily grasp the new areas of learning s/he is introduced to, as your child will be able to more effectively use previous learning to tackle new concepts.
Phonics - I can teach phonics and early reading.
Comprehension - continued development of early to advance reading with emphasis on developing core skills - retrieval, inference and deduction.
Numbers - early to advanced understanding of numbers - place value and key vocabulary. Knowing concepts and why they work thus leading to links in and across different units; this allows for deeper understanding of mathematical concepts and effective reasoning.
11+ - ensuring that understanding of number is secure. This will allow for a deeper understanding of concepts. Children that are secure in their understanding of number are able to problem solve with confidence and are able to draw on knowledge from within and across different mathematical concepts.
Football coach - age and ability appropriate. The training will be based on enjoyment. The direct result of enjoyment of the sport naturally ensures active engagement and a WANT to pursue the sport long term.
Each session will provide different framework to develop control and balance. Training will centre on game situations.
My Experience
I am a Year 6 primary school teacher. I have been in education for over 10 years. I have tutored for a longer period and have enjoyed considerable success - many of my students have gone on to higher education with confidence in their knowledge and understanding, and most importantly confidence in themselves. It is my philosophy that knowledge is acquired through enjoyment and in turn fosters an enquiring mind.
Furthermore, I have a 17 year old nephew who has achieved 6 As at GCSE and is currently doing A Level maths, government & politics and sociology — I have tutored him from the age of 2. I now tutor my own children - 6 and 3 - who are into space and science, so we are learning about atoms, planets, creation of the universe, black holes, neutron stars etc — all this through the power of ‘Why do you think that?’ and ‘Scientist believe ... what is your thoughts on that? Are scientist correct? How can you test that theory?’
If children can be allowed the freedom of thought, they will have the power to reason and create solutions to difficult questions. If however, their mind is filled with what was and what is, their mind is fixed and their only point of reference is WHAT WAS with little ability to think outside the box.
My Qualifications
Year 6 primary school teacher. I am well versed in phonics (Read Write Inc) and have taught in all year groups: reception to Year 6.
I have a law degree.

You’ll struggle to find a tutor as good as Gaz! He is an exceptional tutor who has the ability to make sessions fun, engaging and interesting!
We have a b10 who has always struggled in school. He has poor concentration, struggles to retain information and finds learning really hard. His self esteem was low, he wasn’t in any way curious about school or learning and he was not reaching his potential.
I’d been putting off getting a tutor as I was expecting my son to hate the sessions and become resentful for having to do more studying. When I first found Gaz I was put off by the session length as I wasn’t convinced my son would be able to stay focused for the whole session. I couldn’t be more wrong. Gaz spent time getting to know my son and adapted the sessions to fit with his learning style.
We’ve been having session from Gaz for 6 months and my son has gone from ‘working towards’ in every subject to ‘expected’ and he’s knocking on ‘greater depths’ door…. But the most impressive outcome is how much confidence my son has got from the sessions. He is enjoying learning, he’s curious and for the first time has self belief. He LOVES Gaz, and often ends the session with a fist bump while calling Gaz a legend’
As an adult, you always remember the teachers that made a difference to your learning and I really believe that Gaz will be that teacher my son will remember for making a difference.

I had the pleasure of having Mr. Gazi as a tutor for my three young kids, and I can confidently say he deserves more than a 5-star review. From the very beginning, I was impressed by his patience and commitment to each child's individual needs.
When my son started with Mr. Gazi, he struggled to sit still and was unable to even hold a pen properly and had difficulty with phonics. However, through Mr. Gazi’s patient and tailored approach, my son made incredible progress. Not only did he learn to hold a pen confidently, but he also mastered his phonics, which significantly improved his reading and writing skills.
Seeing the remarkable progress of my son, I decided to enroll my 2 year-old as well. What amazes me is how Mr. Agazi adapts his teaching style based on each child's age and ability. He has a unique way of making learning enjoyable and engaging, capturing their attention and fostering a love for learning.
My kids absolutely adore Mr. Agazi and eagerly look forward to every lesson. He has a way of making learning fun and inspiring curiosity, which is invaluable in nurturing their growth and development.
In summary, Mr. Gazi is an outstanding tutor who goes above and beyond to ensure every child reaches their full potential. His dedication, patience, and ability to adapt to each child's needs make him a truly exceptional educator. I highly recommend Agazi. He has been tutoring my son who was reluctant to focus on maths and struggling to understand the basics. Agazi’s approach is at times playful and fun which has helped to totally engage my son. He looks forward to Agazi coming : )
In a short space of time my sons attitude towards maths has totally changed - excellent progress that I am so grateful for.

Wider understanding of number allows for solutions. Rote learning yields specific results with limited possibilities.

Our children love having Gaz teaching in a fun interactive .His methods of teaching is stimulating the imagination, thought process and bringing out the best of their capabilities.They look forward to learning from a teacher than us as parents !
