I believe education should be learning by exploration rather than filling of the mind. The most important question is WHY! This will allow for reasoning and problem solving.
Phonics - I can teach phonics and early reading.
Comprehension - continued development of early to advance reading with emphasis on developing core skills - retrieval, inference and deduction.
Numbers - early to advanced understanding of numbers - place value and key vocabulary. Knowing concepts and why they work thus leading to links in and across different units; this allows for deeper understanding of mathematical concepts and effective reasoning.
11+ - ensuring that understanding of number is secure. This will allow for a deeper understanding of concepts. Children that are secure in their understanding of number are able to problem solve with confidence and are able to draw on knowledge from within and across different mathematical concepts.
Football coach - age and ability appropriate. The training will be based on enjoyment, as a player who enjoys the sport will be more likely to actively engage and pursue the sport long term.
Each session will provide different framework to develop control and balance. Training will centre on game situations.
I am a Year 6 primary school teacher. I have been in education for over 10 years. I have tutored for a longer period and have enjoyed considerable success - many of my students have gone on to higher education with confidence in their knowledge and understanding, and most importantly confidence in themselves. It is my philosophy that knowledge is acquired through enjoyment and and in turn fosters an enquiring mind.
Furthermore, I have a 17 year old nephew who has achieved 6 As at GCSE and is currently doing A Level maths, government & politics and sociology— I have tutored him from the age of 2. I now tutor my own children - 6 and 3 - who are into space and science, so we are learning about atoms, planets, creation of the universe, black holes, neutron stars etc — all this through the power of ‘Why do you think that?’ and ‘Scientist believe ... what is your thoughts on that? Are scientist correct? How can you test that theory?’
If children can be allowed the freedom of thought, they will have the power to reason and create solutions to difficult questions. If however, their mind is filled with what was and what is, their mind is fixed and their only point of reference is what was with little ability to think outside the box.

Our children love having Gaz teaching in a fun interactive .His methods of teaching is stimulating the imagination, thought process and bringing out the best of their capabilities.They look forward to learning from a teacher than us as parents !

Gaz is a fantastic tutor and has been the perfect fit for our 5-year-old son. He has a structured process which includes assessing and tailoring the tutoring experience to make it personal to a child's learning style having clear goals and timelines.
Gaz's sessions are very interactive and are a mixture of creative and traditional learning. Our son is fully engaged and looks forward to every session. We've seen an increase in his development and a newfound appetite for learning, he now engages more with everyday words around him, trying to sound them out. We can see his confidence building, and overall, he loves his lessons.
Gaz incorporates a holistic learning approach, where he asks and answers questions on every topic, not just English and Maths. We love this because it creates and nurtures curiosity developing his critical thinking.
We would definitely recommend Gaz his experience and patience as a teacher is invaluable. 5/5

I am happy to hear that you are satisfied with the support that I am providing. There is nothing more satisfying for a teacher than a student who is engaged and who looks forward to every lesson. The resulting outcome is positive and produces a child who is confident: confidence develops trust in ones own judgement and abilities; and in turn gives a child a strong sense of self-worth and self-belief in (and out) of the classroom because they are confident and secure in the knowledge or query they have.
