I have worked in accounts for 20 years and decided to change career to working with children; a Psychology with Early Years degree later I decided childcare was my vocation, and so am in the process of studying towards a Masters in Early Childhood. I have worked as a nursery assistant at a few nurseries, but feel to really put the researched approaches, such as the key person approach and child led learning, into practice the best way is to be a childminder; so I have completed a Childminding course and here I am and am now registered with Ofsted.
I have good knowledge of child development along with being a caring, empathetic, patient, fun and safety aware person; I have one grown up son who has now moved out of home, and I have four cats who board with me.
I have worked in children's nurseries, and have brought up my son whilst childminding (although this was 21 years ago now).
