My Summary
About Me
Hello I am a very proud Mum of two grown up children.
I have been lucky enough to have worked and travelled all over the world.
I always wanted to help others and so trained to be a Nurse many years ago back in the 1980’s. I qualified as a State register d Birse and then specialised as a childrens paediatric nurse in charge of the ward.
After a while I decided I’d like to see the world and was lucky enough to be invited to join British Airways as cabin crew.
Throughout my time with BA i worked my way up to manager and flew in various aircraft Concorde being one.
I was also a member of a team who flew our Royal family round the world which was a huge privilege.
It was whilst travelling and seeing the poverty and hardship in the world that I put together a team of crew collecting secondhand clothes and shoes along with medication to parts of India and Africa where Nuns ran children’s orphanages.
We would join the Nuns Once a month with supporting them in teaching the children nursery rhymes, how to draw and spell, along with Basic arithmetic, and lots of Dancing, along with rocking the orphaned babies left by their Mums who died at childbirth with Aids.
It was from having this Very humbling experience that I wanted to include in my career, working and supporting other children in the UK.
I was lucky enough to be chosen to work for a children's charity called bibic in Somerset, working alongside therapists supporting children and their families living with brain injuries. I learnt how to support children and their families with “tools” to live as normal life as they could, with their brain injury, Through therapeutic work. I was the fundraising manager.
It was after my own children left school, I then decided to return to work with children as a Nanny. I had a lot of experience and wanted to share this with other parents.
I am very out doorsy” love animals and not afraid of all weathers that’s what welly boots are for !
I am very patient and never give up trying, especially when it comes to potty training or homework! I am very creative and enjoy cooking.
I have had the pleasure of looking after quite a few children, and am still in contact with them all. I often open my door to Little homemade gifts or cards from the children I’ve looked after.
