About Me

I’ve recently moved to Southend to be closer to family, and am looking for childcare work. I have a Bachelor of Arts in Music Production and Performance, and hope to one day be a music therapist who specialises in working with children.
I play guitar and ukulele, and am happy to teach either of these too, if there’s interest!
Unfortunately I can’t drive just yet, and I understand that this might be a deal breaker! I’m also not Ofsted registered, but would be willing to do this for the right family!

My Experience

I volunteered with beaver scouts (ages 6-8 years) for about 4 months.
I have a level 2 qualification in support work in schools and colleges.
I briefly worked as mother’s help/housekeeper for a family, but unfortunately their needs changed and I was unable to commit myself to the hours they needed.

I worked for about 2 months as mother’s help for a family, focusing mainly on batch cooking and meal prep. I also took on some babysitting for this family.

Over the summer of 2022, myself and another nanny looked after twin boys with SEN (non-verbal) twice a week. We took them on outings and tried to find new activities that they loved. I went on to babysit for a family member of theirs for a brief time.

For roughly 4 months I nannied for two girls, aged 5 and 3. I would help them with breakfast, play with them until it was time to leave for school, then drop the off at school. On days where I’d also do pick up, I would walk them home, prepare their dinner, play with them then do bath time. I left this job as I had chosen to start work as an LSA at a school and could no longer commit to the hours they needed.

I nannied for boy with SEN for a year and a half, picking him up from school, taking him to the park or staying behind at school to play football, then taking him home to meet his mum. I found that establishing a routine with him was really helpful, and was more than happy to give him the choice of what activities to do in order to make the transition between the school environment and the home environment easier.

I looked after a lovely 6 year old girl for about a year, starting with getting her ready for school and walking her in, then eventually picking her up, taking her to ballet club, making her dinner, and doing bath and bed time.

I also worked in a SEN school for 5 months, catering to all sorts of needs.

The last two nannying jobs were particularly difficult to leave, but I chose to relocate to Southend, so there was no way to keep on working for them.

My Qualifications

Level 2 in Food Safety and Hygiene for Catering
NCFE CASHE Level 2 Support work in schools and colleges

My Availability

I work as support staff with a teaching agency, and am currently placed in a nursery that I love, with my placement end date coming up in February. Ideally I’d love to continue at the nursery full time (4 days a week), but if the opportunity doesn’t arise I would be looking for a full time nannying position.
I’m open to working the occasional weekend when needed, so long as this is agreed upon in advance!
