Nanny in London: Ealing
My Summary
About Me
Live-in Nanny | Governess | Family Assistant | Personal Assistant
I feel fortunate to have built a career doing work that I genuinely enjoy. Supporting children as they grow, while bringing a sense of calm, consistency and enjoyment to everyday family life, is something I continue to find both rewarding and meaningful.
I am an experienced nanny and governess with international teaching experience. Over the years, I have worked both as a live-in and live-out nanny, caring for children from newborn babies through to teenagers. I have been living and working in London since 2016, and I hold Settled Status and an enhanced DBS check.
My approach is centred on the understanding that every child is unique. I take time to get to know their personality, interests and strengths so I can support them in a way that feels right for them. I adapt my approach to suit each family’s preferred parenting style, whether more child-led or more guided, always working in a gentle and consistent way. I encourage independence and support children in developing positive habits over time. I aim to create an environment where children feel comfortable, understood and able to express themselves.
Alongside my nanny experience, I have also worked as a teacher, so learning naturally becomes part of everyday family life. I value the little everyday moments just as much—sharing meals, chatting after school, reading stories, baking, exploring nature, visiting museums, doing creative activities and simply enjoying conversations together. These are often the moments when children feel connected, relaxed and free to be themselves.
I am a native Spanish speaker with an excellent command of English and confident communicating with children, parents, teachers and other professionals.
I can support all aspects of children's care, including:
- Morning and after-school routines
- School and nursery runs
- Homework support
- Healthy meal preparation for children
- Laundry, uniforms and children’s belongings
- Organising bedrooms and play areas
- Planning activities, outings and playdates
- Managing diaries and schedules
- Liaising with schools and tutors
- Child-related administration and organisation
I am also happy to take on family assistant or personal assistant duties to help keep family life organised and running smoothly.
I have experience supporting neurodivergent children and adapt my approach to each child’s individual needs.
My qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in Drama and a Master’s degree in Teaching English and Spanish. I also have a background in bodywork and hold professional certification from the State of California. Together, these experiences have shaped the way I work and allow me to support children’s learning, emotional wellbeing and overall development with care and sensitivity.
Families describe me as warm, grounded, calm, dependable, proactive, highly organised and safety-minded. I enjoy building trusting relationships with children and parents alike, and I value open communication, mutual respect and teamwork. I work best in families where there is a shared understanding that consistency and cooperation between adults helps children feel secure and supported.
As a live-in nanny, I am naturally quiet and respectful of family life. During the week I usually spend my evenings reading, watching a good film or documentary, going forward a walk or a well being class. At weekends I enjoy exploring London’s parks, gardens, historic houses, markets, museums, theatres and exhibitions, or simply spending time in nature.
I lead a healthy lifestyle and don’t smoke or drink alcohol. I believe in setting a positive example for the children I care for.
I am open to live-in, live-out and hybrid arrangements. For families who need support early in the morning and again after school, I would also consider staying with the family during the working week if that makes daily routines easier, while returning to my own home at weekends.
I am looking for a family who values kindness, clear communication, mutual respect and teamwork, where I can become a trusted part of family life and make a positive contribution to a well-organised home.
If what you’ve read resonates with you, I would be very happy to hear from you and have an informal conversation to learn more about your family and see whether we might be a good fit for one another.
Thank you.
Maria Elisa
My Experience
I have varied hands-on experience in teaching and childcare, with understanding of children with Special Educational Needs.
I have worked in London and across Europe for private families as a governess, educational nanny, SEN nanny, and developmental support worker. This has included accompanying children in their learning, guiding their routines, and facilitating their emotional and academic development within the home environment.
In London, I have also worked within school settings as an Intervention Teacher and Learning Support Assistant, facilitating learning and helping children with a range of academic and developmental needs.
Earlier in my career, I worked in Asia as a lecturer and primary teacher, which provided me with a strong educational foundation and classroom-based teaching experience.
This combination of private household and school-based experience allows me to adapt confidently to different learning styles, developmental needs, and family environments, while consistently encouraging children’s confidence, independence, and progress.
