About Me
From a young age I have always had the goal of working in the Early Years and making a difference in childrens lives. Since working myself up the education and work ladder, gaining vital experience and awareness, I am fully confident that I now hold the abilities and the knowledge to provide effective Teaching and Learning from within a homely setting.
I have always been described as an approachable, warm, and welcoming individual with lots of years’ experience within the childcare sector, I am also a parent of 5, so have hands on knowledge of potential feelings and emotions that parents may feel, when choosing the right childcare setting and Key Person for their little treasures.
I will be working alongside Charlotte who holds a Level 3 in Early Years, a full Paediatric First Aid and Epi Pen Certificate, alongside much more. Charlotte has lots of experience and new creative ideas to extend the childrens learning. Charlotte has always helda good rapport with children and their families.
We run a fun, busy and exciting household with lots of animals including chickens! (All fully vacinated and risk assessed).
Our premises offer a home from home feel and has CCTV on the inside and outside for everyones reassurance.
My Experience
I hold a level 6 BA Hons Degree in Childrens Learning and Development, alongside a Level 3 in The Early Years, Health & Social Care, and Teaching Assistant, I have Designated Safeguard Lead experience resulting in forming close working relationships with outer professionals, with the same aim of supporting our families.
I have worked with children from birth to 11, including children with Special Educational Needs who need that extra support, time and relevant documentation completing.
My experience and roles within the childcare sector are, EYP, Room Lead, SENCO, Safeguarding Officer, Deputy Manager and Manager. I have attended and run Early Help meetings and have hand on experience with working alongside Social Workers and outside professionals which is beneficial to the child and their families, to implement strategies in hope to support them early.
One focus we pride ourselves on is parent partnership, and we aim to involve the child’s and parents voice in all decisions made around the child and our setting. We feel that it is vital for the parents/carers to feel 100% confident when leaving their child in our care.
I am also a registered foster carer and adoptee therefore, lots of other experience with children outside the education sector.

Exceptional investment from these ladies for the little minds of our future, they stop at nothing to make sure each child gets a unique learning program to develop.
My child is sen and the commitment and support they offer me and my family is unconditional.
They safeguard my child at all costs and are open and transparent with me with all learning and care provided. After a poor experience elsewhere Gem and her team really supported us every step of the way, Gem ensures that is and parents are also supported and well and our babies and for that I’m truly grateful.
Anyone who has a bad word against these girls either don’t want to pay their bill or are jealous of the heart and soul this setting provides!

What can I say? Little Gems was recommended by several people, I transferred my child to her from an alternative setting due to concerns in care, I was very nervous leaving my child again, but after only 1 week my child was so happy and excited to attend! I cannot thank you both enough for all the work you guys put into your care and teaching!

Since starting last summer from the very start Little Gems have been amazing they made me feel welcome as my little ones unique situation was very hard to explain as me being her special guardian but they were incredible at listening and understanding her needs. They accommodated her completely. She is very settled and happy and has made friends and great memories. I am happy I chose this setting for her. I look forward to watching her develop there. A big thank you to both Gem and Charlotte.
