About Me
I am 24 years old, from Ireland, in my final year of a degree in Education and Psychology at the University of Cambridge. I will be starting my Masters degree in Developmental Psychology and Clinical Practice in September 2024.
I have worked with children in various capacities over the past ten years, and have had so much fun doing so! I love creating fun activities for children to enjoy, as well as joining in on child led and children centred play, including all kinds of outdoor play. I also have a particular interest in reading development, and pre reading activities with younger children.
My Experience
For the past ten years, I have worked as a babysitter or nanny for numerous families—for which I am happy to provide references—including children from infancy through age 12. From preparing snacks and changing nappies to helping with homework and ensuring safety, I have proven myself to be enthusiastic and supportive in every aspect of caring for children. Furthermore, I have experience helping children through separation anxiety, using distraction and refocussing techniques to help kids through those tough emotions.
Along with my nanny experience, I have worked as a preschool teaching assistant in pre-primary schools in Ireland, and in South Africa. This gave me the opportunity to help and care for children across varying contexts with diverse needs. I also volunteered at sports club for children with intellectual disabilities ages 5-16. This has given me great insight into the wide-ranging dimensions in how children communicate and express themselves . I have also tutored in English language and literature, Irish language, and reading, to children ages from 5 to 15. I have been involved in a tutoring charity for the past three years, and in the position of Head of Safeguarding and DBS compliance over the past year, demonstrating my commitment to the wellbeing and safety of all children.
In my academics, my interest lies particularly with the relationship between play and child development, and I strive to bring that to my practice as a nanny, with care and love for children at the heart of everything I do.

- Nannying from £16.00 per hour (net)
