My Summary
Little Bees Childminding
About Me
Little Bees Childminding is a warm, family-focused setting where every child is nurtured, supported, and truly feels at home. Little Bees was created with a deep passion for early childhood education and a belief that children thrive when they are treated like part of the family. Every child in my care is valued, loved, and fully included in family life, creating a strong sense of belonging and security.
At Little Bees, play-based learning and hands-on experiences shape each day. Our large, well-equipped playroom features a craft area, a cozy reading corner, and plenty of space for imaginative play. This opens directly into a safe, enclosed garden where children can explore nature, enjoy outdoor play, and build confidence through movement and adventure. Whether it’s getting creative with arts and crafts, engaging in sensory play, or sharing stories, every activity is designed to spark curiosity and joy.
Beyond the home, Little Bees embraces the wider world through exciting outings and real-life learning experiences. We take regular trips to local farms, woodland walks, playgroups and the local library. Beach days that are filled with sandcastle building, dipping our toes in the water, and the joy of fresh sea air. Cooking and baking sessions allow children to explore new tastes, develop independence, and gain valuable life skills. These hands-on activities not only encourage learning but also help children build confidence and a sense of wonder about the world around them.
Family life is at the heart of everything we do, and the children are involved in daily routines, from sharing meals together to helping with small tasks, making them feel like a true part of the Little Bees family. Even our friendly small dog, Max, plays a role in teaching children about kindness and respect for animals. With a strong focus on love, nature, creativity, and real-world experiences, I am dedicated to creating a warm and enriching environment where children feel safe, inspired, and ready to explore the world. By doing all this the children leave my setting ready and confident to start their school journey.
My Experience
I have extensive experience working with children and a strong background in education. I began my childminding journey in 2019 after the birth of my son, Archie. Becoming a parent strengthened my desire to provide a nurturing, supportive environment for young children while allowing me to spend precious time with my own children during their early years. When my second son, Harvey, arrived, this reaffirmed that childminding was the right path for both my family and my career.
Prior to becoming a childminder, I worked as a qualified tutor at a local school in Christchurch, where I gained valuable experience supporting children’s learning and development. My teaching background has given me a solid understanding of child development, individual learning needs, and the importance of creating engaging, play-based learning experiences.
Childminding felt like the perfect decision, allowing me to remain in education while offering a warm, home-from-home environment where children feel safe, valued, and encouraged to thrive. I am passionate about supporting children during their early years and helping to give them the best possible start in life.

I couldn't do without Holly. My son absolutely loves her and it is clear Holly is a really caring childminder. She does so many great activities with the children and I highly recommend her.
