About Me
Hi I am Liz, Little Explorers Childminding in Dorking. I am an Ofsted registered childminder. I have a 6 year old son and a 3 year old daughter. I am qualified in level 3 Childcare and Development. I decided to complete a Home Based Childcare qualification and am very lucky to work from a lovely house which has a spacious, secure garden and is situated in a quiet cul-de-sac within short walking distance of Dorking town centre, the park and woodland. We have a small friendly dog called Gus who has been around children all his life and a cat called Zoomer who spends most his days away from home exploring.
My aim is to provide a home from home environment where children feel safe and secure, are free to explore their interests, and have their developmental needs met with love and care. I enjoy planning different activities for children, cooking, arts & crafts, trips and lots of playing.
I love to get the children outside everyday, whatever the weather and this includes visiting play groups, playgrounds, national trust parks and exploring the woodlands a short walk from the house.
I will provide all snacks and Lunch for your child and I also have a BTEC Level 2 qualification in Home Cooking.
I have up to date First Aid Certificates and DBS checks.

My little girl has just turned 2 and has been with Liz since she was 9 months old. I can honestly say Liz is the most incredible childminder who shows such a deep care words the children she minds. My daughter LOVES going to Liz and being in a surrounding that’s homely, friendly, clean, fun and all around amazing. She runs to the door every morning, goes inside and shuts the door on me because she is so excited for her day ahead. Liz also logs everything on Tapestry so I can see what she has been up to with her days and what she eats etc. Liz also takes time each morning/pick up to talk to parents and to make that effort with us also is warming. I honestly couldn’t recommend a better childminder and feel like Liz is now apart of the family.

My son has been with Liz for the last three months after he started in October, at just 9 months old. I was incredibly anxious about putting my son into a childcare setting at such a long age, but Liz made the transition back to work from maternity leave both smooth and stress-free, as I know my little one is in an environment where he is cared for and thriving. Liz is incredibly communicative and provides detailed logs of my sons days and activities, along with pictures, which are always lovely to see. My son is incredibly happy with Liz - he beams with excitement when we show up at the door each morning.
It is very clear how much Liz cares for each child she looks after and how passionate she is about her work, this is reflected in just how happy my son is to be there each day.

My daughter is almost 2 and has been with Liz for about 8 months. Since joining Little Explorers, her confidence has grown and she has progressed so much. She was very quiet and shy when she first joined, but now she gets excited to go and happily waves me goodbye with a big smile, which is so reassuring.
Liz keeps us updated daily with what she’s been up to, what she’s eaten and how she’s slept, plus weekly photos and a rundown of their week. The children do a great mix of indoor and outdoor activities, and it’s clear how much care and effort Liz puts in. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Little Explorers to anyone looking for a childminder - Liz has been fantastic with my little girl!
