My Requirements

Hours:
- 6 hours per week during term time
- 10 hours per week during school holidays

Pay:
- Paid directly via Theo’s care funding (Direct Payments)
- Rate negotiable depending on experience

About Theo:
Theo is a bright, funny 7-year-old autistic child with limited speech. He uses gestalt language, familiar scripts, and a writing board to communicate. He thrives with gentle, child?led support, sensory play, and a calm, attuned adult who understands neurodivergent communication.

What We’re Looking For:
A warm, patient person who:
- Enjoys child led play and follows the child’s interests
- Understands (or is willing to learn about) autism and gestalt language processing
- Can support communication using visuals and Theo’s writing board
- Is comfortable with sensory needs and co regulation
- Can build trust through consistency, curiosity, and kindness
- Is reliable, flexible, and happy to work closely with the family

Role Includes:
- Supporting Theo at home and/or in the community
- Sensory play, outdoor time, and gentle activities
- Helping him regulate, communicate, and explore safely
- Providing a calm, predictable presence
- Working collaboratively to understand what helps Theo thrive

Requirements:
- Enhanced DBS (this will be provided for you)
- Experience with children preferred
- Training or willingness to learn about autism and communication differences
- Must drive and have transport
