My Summary
About Me
Hey! My name is Nicole and I have been working in childcare for the last 5 years, after I finished my A-Levels I took two gap years before starting university to gain experience in various nursery settings. I realised I had a passion for childcare, and decided to pursue my teaching degree, which I am now doing at the university of Brighton and I am due to graduate July 2025. I have also had a background in acting and the film industry which has meant I am a bubbly and fun individual around children, who really enjoys and understands the benefits of singing and telling stories. I have a passion for the outdoors and believe children should have assess to explore no matter the weather (as long as their clothing is appropriate!) and will strive to incorperate this with any family I work with. I love to come up with fun and unique activities for children to enjoy, and I am always thinking of what I can do next to help them learn and grow. I am a nurturing practitioner who always leads with understanding and patience, I feel strongly about positive praise and developing children's emotional skills.
My Experience
I have worked in a variety of nurseries during my time as an agency worker and had two different full time positions in very contrasting nurseries. I have worked with SEN and EAL children very closely and have had many key children that I have formed close bonds with, which is something I feel is very important when working in childcare. Over my last 3 years studying teaching at the University of Brighton I have had continued opportunities to work with a range of children. I have been in 3 different schools on my placements working with children of varying needs and gaining a deeper understanding of how to best support SEN, EAL and disadvantaged learners. Alongside my degree I have worked in The Outdoors Project, this has required me to work at after school clubs, holiday clubs and even birthday parties. Not only has this job shown me the benefits of the outdoors when working with children but also the ability to make any activity to fun and engaging. I have worked with all ages from 0-12.
My Qualifications
I have 9 GCSE qualifications all above a C and now three A levels, an A in film, A in photography and C in English literature. I have an enhanced DBS and also a level 2 certificate in safeguarding, as well as being paediatric first aid trained. I will have qualified teacher status by July 2025.
My Availability
I am available everyday apart from Monday afternoons, however I am willing to be flexible for the right family.
