About Me

Hello beautiful families! I am a 49-year-old Italian woman, very enthusiastic about life in general and happy to help with my positive energy and all my various skills, from organisational to creative, including culinary but also emotional and educational support. And much more to follow!

IMPORTANT NOTE: I am looking for a "30-hours-per-week" position, spread over 3 (ideal) 4, or 5 days per week, between 7.30/8.00 am and maximum 6.00 pm, starting in September.

I was born and raised in Conegliano Veneto, a small town near Venice, but when I was 33 years old, I decided to follow my inner voice and move to Tenerife (Canary Islands, Spain). I lived there for 11 years before I moved to London in December 2020.

In Tenerife my jobs were mainly related to my native Italian language i.e. translations, surveys and - above all - teaching: although I have studied Applied Arts (I am a creative person and I like to make handmade objects and decorate the spaces I live in), I have been teaching Italian for the last 10 years (and Spanish to Italian people, as well) because I am passionate about it!

In Tenerife, I had also been Roberto’s after-school nanny for six years. Roberto is an awesome teenager now, but I met him when he was a 5-year-old child. He has several allergies (some fruits, olives, seafood...) and a severe allergy to nuts and nut products (he always needs to bring the adrenaline with him, in case of an anaphylaxis crisis). I was helping Roberto's mother with pick up and drop off school service, preparing specific lunches, organising leisure activities during the afternoon and enjoying teaching him a little bit of Italian language. I have a letter of recommendation written by Roberto's mother to let you know how beautiful the relationship between the three of us was.

I am a kind, affectionate, easy-going, patient and always-smiling person, constantly encouraging others to see their qualities and abilities: I motivate them to try their best, to realise what they are/were able to achieve and, last but not least, to see the bright side of life in every situation. I am also aware of the importance of creating a supportive environment for both parents and children because I consider that the family and each individual that is part of it are the starting point for all the next generations.

During all my childhood I had the responsibility of my only brother, who was born blind, helping and taking care of him while our mother was working in the afternoon and on many other occasions. The outcome of that situation helped me to achieve a strong sense of responsibility and empathy for people who need assistance in some way.
Due to my inner nature and the education I have received, I am a very tidy person: I like a clean and harmonious environment, just as I love respectful and harmonious relationships in any context of my life. Besides, healthy and simple alimentation is one of my biggest interests: I studied on my own many aspects of it and it is how I have gained all my knowledge since I was a teenager. So, I can prepare healthy meals as well, when required (if you want to have an idea about that, I have a few pictures of the meals I was preparing for Ivo & Sylvia first and Isaac later, the kids I was taking care of here in London).

I speak Spanish perfectly (I also have a Certificate of advanced Spanish level and, as I mentioned before, I was teaching the Spanish language to Italian people, especially during the last two years in Tenerife). I will be happy to work with English, Italian and Spanish families as well as with families of any nationality.
I could teach Italian or Spanish to your kids or speak to them in these languages as well, if you and them would like.

In addition to the letter from the Spanish family I can provide you with the reference letters of the families I worked with here in London. I also have two other Reference Letters from my students: they are about my job as a teacher, not as a nanny, but they show how I am regarding my professionalism and my personal skills. If you think it would be useful for you to read them, I would be pleased to send them as well. Finally, I have two Pediatric First Aid certificates: the first one obtained in March 2021 and the refresher course certificate obtained in January 2024. I also have the Enhanced DBS Check. If you think that my profile could match your family’s needs and values, do not hesitate to get in contact with me.

My Experience

11 years of Childcare experience;
Ages: from 6 months to 15 years;
Previous Roles: live out Nanny (both part-time and full-time).

In Tenerife I had been in charge of Roberto for 6 years (from his 5 to 11) and I spent with him all the afternoons from Monday to Friday, from 1 pm to 5 pm. Roberto's parents divorced shortly after I started working as his nanny and that was a little after the discovery of Roberto's allergies problems. It was a delicate period, both psychologically and emotionally as well as physically, but we all managed it in the best possible way and all this experience brought us together even more.

When I met Ivo, here in London, he had just turned 3 and Sylvia had just turned 7. I stayed with them for 2 years. Besides the 'classic basic activities' (picking them up from kindergarten/school, going with them to club activities, preparing healthy meals and snacks, reading lots of books and helping them a bit with homework) depending on the period of the year or the circumstances we spent as much time as possible outdoors, discovering new playgrounds where we could create new adventures and collect leaves, stones or branches for our creative activities to do at home. Many visits to museums, the zoo and our beloved Gambado (indoor soft play centre). I also organised many playdates for both of them.
I always dedicated some time to music (dancing, singing, creating songs or just listening to music) and also let them free to enjoy their favourite activities, toys and games at home. On some occasions, it was necessary to go with them to the doctor or dentist.

From August 2023 to August 2024 I was working part-time after school with two teenagers (13 and 15 years old) and the oldest one has Down Syndrome. I picked him up from school once a week (the other afternoons he arrived on the school bus), prepared dinner (for both boys), helped him with his homework and stayed with him until his parents finished work at 8.00 pm. We played a lot of table tennis and chess, as well as engaging in other educational activities. During holidays or when possible, we cooked together and went out in search of adventure at the park. To foster his passions (marine biology, dinosaurs and palaeontology, volcanoes and world wars) we often visited the aquarium and various museums in London.
With Isaac, the educational focus was directed on certain aspects in particular (which are important for everyone but require a different approach and attention for those with Down Syndrome):
- to encourage him in communication, both general and more personal;
- to teach him the basics of living together with others, finding a balance between independence and collaboration;
- to teach him to be responsible for his actions;
- to teach him the discipline needed for a healthy life with himself and with others.
Although his brother is more independent and does not need much supervision, of course I was there for him too.

At the same time, since the beginning of April 2024 until mid October 2024, I also had another part-time job in the mornings with a family that has a baby boy (who was nearly 6 months old when I started) and his 4-year-old brother. I took care of all the activities related to caring for a baby (feeding and weaning, changing nappies, sterilising bottles and toys, sleeping routines, maintaining the play area, organising clothes/laundry, playing, starting to socialise with other babies) and those related to caring for a toddler entering the preschool phase, as I did with Ivo (drop off to the nursery/Reception- preparation of healthy meals and snacks, club activities, organisation of ludic activities and playdates, books reading, etc).
I spoke to them in Italian as the family is half-Italian and rightly wanted to teach this language to their little ones, so with the eldest I took care of explaining the language to him.

Finally, since the beginning of January 2025 (and until the end of August this year), I have been accompanying Millicent: a bubbly little blonde who was about to turn 2 when I started.
I was already looking for a 30-hour position (which was not the case in the previous months!) and with the current family we have found a perfect balance between hours at the nursery and hours with me, giving Millie a full spectrum of activities and experiences (and the right amount of working hours to me).
We both love being outdoors so we spend a lot of time outside. When we are at home, we engage in art creation, numbers (which Millie loves) and reading.
I maintain a precise routine with regard to meals and nap time after lunch and build the activities around that routine.
Music lover that we are, with Millie we go to dance classes (ballet and hip-hop) and to 'Monkey Music'.
As always, my approach with Millie is to generate independence and self-confidence while remaining “constantly present”.
Millie's mother has already prepared a nice letter of recommendation for me, which I will be happy to share with those who are interested in learning more about our experience.

Having a calming influence and creating a loving, warm environment to thrive in is something that I do try to manifest in all contexts of life, with children and with adults as well, because I believe that this is the best field where someone may plant the seeds of good relationships. Especially for kids, who are going to be the adults of the future, is essential to have a positive and appreciative environment that will help to grow their inner nature and potential. For this reason, I would like to know which activities the kids enjoy the most, to understand them better and set them free to enjoy their passions. Starting from that point, I would like to propose to them something different, anything that could be new and interesting for them to stimulate their curiosity and to discover distinct skills. According to the kids’ age, I speak openly with them and I share my day-to-day life and emotions, to show them I keep in consideration their opinion. So, day after day, I make them realise that there is nothing to worry about in being open with people who love us, that it is natural and positive.
At the same time, I stimulate their communication skills through simple but respectful questions, never trying to lead their answer so I can understand better how they do feel or think. When something "goes wrong" for them in their lives, I make them laugh because laughter helps people relieve stress. Consequently, it is easier to raise their spirit and make them see the positive side of things and have a good perception of life.

I never had “my own” children but I spent a lot of time with my friends’ kids and with the children I was taking care of as a Nanny and those had been very fun and intense experiences. Children's energy and curiosity are revitalising for me. Many times their way to see the facts helped me to reconsider the way I see things. Spending time with them is a good-natured exchange, a genuine "give and take" situation which unfortunately many times is hard to experience with adults. Thanks to the kids I developed my patience and capacity to "take things easy", not take things to heart, do not take them personally. And, even more important, they helped me reconnect with my inner child, in that playful way that an adult has forgotten or let apart during the life path.
