My Summary
Outstanding Childminder In Dartford
About Me
I am a registered childminder in Hawley. I live in a spacious 5 bedroom semi-detached home with a separate playroom and large garden. I live with my husband, 3 children (aged 16, 14 and 10) and our dog Millie who is a loveable Cavapoo.
I have recently been inspected by Ofsted and graded Outstanding (May 2023) and hold a current paediatric first aid certificate and DBS.
I offer a home from home setting, with various toys, games and activities, so that your child feels relaxed, happy and enjoys themselves whilst in my care.
I have knowledge of the Early Year’s Foundation Stage (EYFS) and will plan activities and outings to allow your child to meet their full potential and develop as an individual. I feel it is important to work in partnership with parents, so that I can provide continuity of care for the child and so that parents are kept informed and involved every step of the way.
My Experience
As well as having my own children I also have valuable previous experience. Before I became a
childminder, I worked in an established, successful Outstanding Day Nursery for 15 years, only
having time off to care for my own children. I first became a Team leader, leading a small team
and working for children between the ages of 2-3 years. After returning from maternity leave,
after having my eldest son, I became part of the management team. The role came with huge
responsibility, including being the designated SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator)
as well as the designated safeguarding person. I undertook extensive training over the years.
My Qualifications
A* GCSE in Child Development
CACHE Diploma Level 3 in Child Care and Education, completed in 2005
CACHE Level 4 NVQ in Children’s Care, Learning and development, completed in 2007.

Over the Rainbow has a kind and supportive approach to the children with the focus on play and confidence / social development. I see pictures of my daughter interacting with the other children, they all look engaged, attentive and share toys. The Family App giving updates throughout the day on what they are doing, when she sleeps, eats etc is a lifeline. It’s so incredibly important to know that she is in a caring environment while she isn’t at home. You are made to be a part of their day with the pictures and updates so you don’t feel like they have a secret life when at school, you almost feel like you’re enjoying the experience with them. The children are welcomed in as extended members of the family and are exposed to different aspects of learning through sensory and play. The environment is clean and the toys and playroom are a constantly evolving project, nothing is allowed to go stale, new toys, new experiences, new ways to learn are what we’ve come to accept as the everyday norm, it isn’t until you think about how much effort must go into what we take for granted from Rainbow that you really begin to appreciate how lucky you are that your child is a rainbow
