About Me
Welcome to Little Orchard Childminding!
I am an Ofsted-registered childminder with Early Years Teacher Status (EYTS), a BA (Hons) in Early Childhood Studies and a CACHE Level 3 qualification, with over 18 years’ experience working with young children.
Little Orchard is a small, nurturing home-from-home setting in Ruislip, where children are given the time, space and support to learn, play and develop at their own pace.
I provide a warm and welcoming environment with a dedicated playroom and garden, alongside regular opportunities for outdoor play, activities and outings.
My early-years background means that I place a strong emphasis on children’s individual development and interests, while making sure they have a happy, secure and enjoyable childhood.

My Experience
Experience
I have over 18 years’ experience working with children in the early years, including working as an early years teacher and, more recently, as an Ofsted-registered childminder.
Throughout my career, I have supported children from birth through to school age, helping them develop their confidence, independence and individual interests through play and engaging experiences.
I have been an Ofsted-registered childminder since 2024 and was rated Good by Ofsted in November 2024.
As a mum myself, I also understand how important it is for parents to feel confident and reassured that their child is happy, safe and well cared for. I value building strong, trusting relationships with families and providing a warm, nurturing environment where children feel secure and able to thrive.
My Qualifications
I am committed to maintaining the highest standards of professional knowledge and practice in early years education. My qualifications include:
• Early Years Teacher Status (EYTS)
• BA (Hons) Degree in Early Childhood Studies
• CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Childcare and Education
• Enhanced DBS Check
• Paediatric First Aid Certificate
• Food Hygiene Training
• Safeguarding & Prevent (Level 2)
I also complete regular CPD courses to ensure my knowledge and practice remain fully up to date with the latest guidance, research, and developments in the early years sector.
All of my certificates and qualifications are available to view upon request.
My Availability
January 2027 – Monday to Thursday place available. Please get in touch for more information.

- Childminding from £8.00 per hour

We honestly couldn’t recommend Lorraine highly enough. She is an absolutely wonderful childminder and has been amazing with our son from day one.
She is caring, patient, attentive and genuinely goes above and beyond to make sure the children in her care feel safe, happy and loved. Our son absolutely adores going to her, and it gives us such peace of mind knowing he is in such capable and caring hands.
The setting and communication is fantastic, and we always feel kept up to date with how the day has gone. It’s clear that she puts so much thought and effort into creating a warm, fun and nurturing environment where children can learn, play and develop with confidence.
We feel incredibly lucky to have found Lorraine. She truly is one of a kind and, without a doubt, the best childminder we could have asked for.
