About Me

My name is Lauren Rock, I live with my husband Jason, and our two children Samuel and Toby.

We live in Burntwood, Staffordshire and have lived in our home for 14 years.

The main playroom has been built as an extension to our family home, and is well equipped offering a wealth of resources to help guide children through their early years and encourage and promote children’s well being and development at all opportunities. The setting has a large garden which again, hosts a variety of toys and resources.

I have a passion for providing children with a nurturing and inspiring atmosphere to enable them to learn and grow into confident young people. I pride myself on providing children with a stimulating learning environment, where the children will have lots of opportunities to use their senses to explore and experiment, as well as, finding out new things and learning through play.

The setting is a warm, safe and friendly environment where the children are able to form strong friendships with their peers and feel secure and happy in my care.

I have a good understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework which provides early years education and supports all areas of the children’s learning and development. I keep myself up to date with any new developments and changes to this framework to ensure I am providing the best learning opportunities for all children at all times.

As a parent myself that has used day nurseries and a childminder for my own two children, I can understand how important it is to find the right childcare provider. I have a deep understanding of how daunting and worrying it can be when you leave your child somewhere with someone new. I will do all I can to make both you as parents and your child feel as comfortable as possible and believe that good communication is key during this transition. I use an online learning journey to support my early years setting which links to the foundation stage (EYFS). This allows parents and myself to communicate easily, while your child is in my care, without having to wait until the end of the day to find out what your child has been up to. As soon as an event or photo is saved, it is immediately synchronized to each parent and caregiver. Everybody has access to the information in real time. It enables me to record not only feed times, naps, nappy changing and milestones, but also your child’s mood, temperature, what kind of game they are playing and attach pictures.
