Jemima
Nanny in Wealden (also available for babysitting)
My Summary
About Me
I’m a caring and reliable nanny with over five years’ experience looking after children of all ages.
I grew up on a farm with four sisters which taught me patience, responsibility, teamwork, and a strong love for the outdoors. I enjoy encouraging children to learn and explore through outdoor play and hands-on activities.
I build trusting relationships with both children and parents and pride myself on being reliable, calm, and attentive to each child’s individual needs. As a mum myself, I value clear communication, consistency, and creating a warm environment where children can thrive.
In my spare time, I enjoy long walks, horse riding, cooking, going to the gym, and reading. I am also happy to help with light household duties, dog walking, and food shopping.
My Experience
November 2022 to current- Full-time nanny to three amazing children aged 13,11 and 7. My role is ending due to the increase of school hours for all three children.
My role includes dropping off and collecting from school and after school clubs. I organise play dates and fun activities which are appropriate for each age group.
I work longer days during the school holidays. I therefore plan ahead of each holiday and create a schedule with fun, age appropriate activities including obstacle courses, go karting, swimming, bowling, seaside visits, discovering new amazing dog walks.
At the beginning of each week I create a meal plan which is suitable for all of them (an example meal plan can be provided).
My duties include walking their dog, ironing, washing the children’s clothes, sorting and organising each of their rooms and keeping the house clean and tidy.
August 2021 to October 2022 - Full-time Nanny with sole care of a child aged 3. The contract is ending October 2022 due to the child attending full time school.
My duties include helping the development of the child at each growing milestone and making sure I provide the best one to one care.
I typically start each day by preparing breakfast and getting the child dressed and ready for the day. We then begin 1 hour of one to one learning such as reading, spelling or maths. Before lunchtime I make sure the child has some downtime such as playing with toys, walking up to the park or playing sports in the garden. Following that I make lunch for the child. After lunch we like to do some educational games such as science experiments or maths related games or meet up with their friends for age appropriate playtime. I then proceed to make the dinner for both the child and the parents. If the parents are working late, I will undertake bath time. I always tidy up at the end of every day.
I usually take the child out around 3 days a week (when they are not attending nursery). This can be anything from going into London, going swimming or to soft play centres or just to the local park or town.
On school days, I begin the day the same way then take the child to school. While they are at school, I undertake housework and chores, including washing the child's clothes and cleaning.
April 2022 – August 2022 - Concurrent with the above position, I worked as a temporary mother's help prior to and immediately after the birth of a new baby. My responsibilities included looking after the two older children (aged 2 and 3), helping with the newborn baby, supporting the family by making meals and entertaining the children, whilst helping them to adjust to the arrival of their new sibling. This was a short term contract for 3 months.
I have also got 6 years of babysitting experience for local families, with an ages ranging from new-born to 15 years old. This has given me the ability to care for any age group and to arrange the appropriate activities for the developmental stage of each individual, depending on their age.

Jemima is the most wonderful nanny any family could wish for. She is kind, patient, funny, very hard working and adapts to any ages and personality. When we hired Jemima we were looking for someone long term to look after our 3 children (at the time they were 6 (g), 10 (b) and 12 (b)) but our circumstances changed and we no longer needed a nanny so we only had Jemima with us for about 1 year. We were all heartbroken but have stayed in touch until now and regularly catch up and she still babysits for us regularly. During her time with us she worked around school hours during term time and full time during the school holidays. Her main focus was on the children, her cooking is fab (our children still talk about her fishcakes being the best in the world) and she also did a bit of light housework to help with the every day.
I could not recommend her enough and if we needed help again we would have her back in a heartbeat.
Any family would be lucky to have her.
