About Me
Hello lovely families! I’m Charlie, I'm an experienced holistic nanny, trained birth & postnatal doula, with some availability for babysitting. I have a background working in the baby room in nurseries, nannying babies and toddlers and supporting neurodiverse children and parents. I have also worked at a forest school nursery (outdoor all year round!) and facilitating art workshops.
As a doula, I am well equipped to provide antenatal education, labour support, birth debriefs, newborn care and breastfeeding/ chestfeeding guidance and signposting.
I love:
- Facilitating outdoor and creative play.
- Coming up with play ideas based on your child's developmental stage.
- Using knowledge of schemas to understand children and come up with play provocations.
- Using baby massage to alleviate tummy pain or help calm little ones.
- Supporting the whole family practically and emotionally.
- Cooking and meal prepping tasty nutritional vegetarian meals.
I also have over 2 years working with adults with learning disabilities and mental health support needs. I love getting to know different people on an individual level and fitting in with people's lives and routines to provide autonomy-led support.
Night Doula Offering:
Working as a holistic night nanny has made me knowledgeable around infant sleep. My night doula support is designed to give you some valuable rest while still working around your preferred choice of feeding. As a postnatal night doula I also provide emotional support and complete light household tasks to help you feel prepared for the morning.
My Experience
Working as a sole charge and shared care nanny and working in nurseries has made me a confident childcare practitioner. I have lots of experience with: infant feeding, sleep, baby massage, babywearing, teething, weaning and supporting neurodiverse children and parents.
Alongside my postnatal work, I currently support a solo parent with significant health needs with their evening routines with their one year old.
My Qualifications
I trained to be a doula with Developing Doulas. I am a member of Doula UK, engaged with the Conscious Birthing mentoring process and part of the Lewes Birth Collective.
I have Paediatric First Aid training, Enhanced DBs on the update service, safeguarding training and Food Hygiene Level 2. I also have completed courses in Safe Sleeping and Baby Massage.
I am currently studying Introduction to Counselling at a local college.
Neurodiversity training with Project Artworks Collective:
Autism and Mental Health, Meltdowns and Shutdowns, Working with & supporting PDA young people & adults and Total Communication training.
My Availability
I currently have availability to provide the following types of support:
- A new nanny position for 1-3 per week.
- A new postnatal doula role 1-4 days for a week.
- Babysitting.
- Night doula/ nanny.
- Birth preparation, labour support, medical advocacy and birth debriefs.
- Sibling support during birth and postnatal period.
My Fees
- Babysitting from £15.00 per hour
- Nannying from £18.00 per hour (gross)
£18/hr for sessions of 6 hours or more.
Fees for shorter sessions:
5 hours - £100
4 hours - £92
3 hours - £78
2 hours - £60
My nanny rates apply in the daytime and my babysitter rate applies once little ones are asleep.
