About Me

**I am going on maternity leave October 2025 - May 2026.**

Long term spaces available from June 2026. Feel free to get in touch for waitlist information and availability.

I offer a unique blend of flexible childcare solutions as a nanny-childminder, specialising in gentle, attachment-focused care for sensitive children. I can care for little ones in your home as a nanny, in my own home and garden as an Ofsted registered childminder, and out and about in the community and natural world.

I have over 13 years of childcare experience as an au pair and nanny. I’m also a parent to an awesome 6 year old, so I know what it’s like to juggle the ups and downs of parenting and work! My daughter could not settle at nursery when she was little, so I returned to a career in childcare to support her needs; she went on to thrive at a forest school kindergarten 4 days per week and is now absolutely flourishing at primary school, I believe in part due to the time she spent building friendships and social skills at her own pace with the children I have nannied over the last 4 years.

I use gentle, respectful, attachment parenting with a sprinkling of Montessori, Steiner/Waldorf and forest school approaches. I feel passionate about working with the whole family and building the village so many of us lack - it is my intention that our journeys as parents are honoured and supported by my care and connection with you and your children.

My focus as a childcare provider is on the empathetic and compassionate nurturing of the whole child, ensuring their physical, emotional and mental wellbeing while having lots of child-led fun, preferably outside! I am a Forest Childcare Provider and I believe that spending time outdoors is important for all of us. With me, children are outdoors for part of every day, no matter the weather, because I believe that fresh air and wide open spaces are fundamentally good for us all. In 2023 we logged over 1,400 hours outside! I have a beautiful back garden that the children can access whenever they want. We also enjoy visiting nearby parks, woods, animal sanctuaries and nature reserves on a regular basis.

I'm a creative, outdoorsy person who loves being silly and believes the best learning happens with an abundance of love and laughter. I use lots of baby signing, song and dance, books, toys and natural materials to support a child’s learning and development.

I offer childcare in my own home as a registered childminder but I still operate essentially as a nanny, looking after just one or two children alongside my own child. Each family I've worked with since returning to childcare in 2021 has seen an incredible response from all the children, learning new skills from each other, building their first friendships, benefitting in so many ways both developmentally and socially. It’s worked beautifully for all involved, even better than I’d hoped or imagined! You can see my reviews for their perspectives :)

My Experience

I have more than a decade of childcare experience as an au pair, nanny and mother's help, working with children ranging from 6 weeks to 14 years old. My strengths lie in the infant and preschool years age 0-5. I have completed Paediatric First Aid and Ofsted-compliant childcare training, and I have a passion for healthy eating and meal preparation with children (I am vegan and provide balanced plant-based meals and snacks for my charges). I am a confident swimmer who has lots of experience of helping to introduce children to the water in a safe, fun way (I only take little ones to the swimming pool as a 1:1 activity, but have a paddling pool for splashy summer fun.) I do not hold a driver's license, by choice, and I believe public transport is a great way for children to interact with their community and learn about safety. I love to take kids out to the beach, parks and woodland, soft play, library groups and community events while teaching safe travel in an age appropriate way.

My Qualifications

Ofsted registered childminder; Ofsted-compliant childcare qualifications; full paediatric first aid; enhanced DBS; other certifications available on request.

A nurturing environment focused on school readiness and nature-based learning awaits children at this childcare setting. The curriculum is well-planned, tailoring experiences to children's needs and interests. Strong emphasis is placed on language development and communication skills. Children enjoy regular outings to woodlands and nature areas, benefiting from specialized training. While partnerships with parents are strong, there is room for improvement in liaising with other settings children attend to ensure a consistent approach.

We cannot recommend Jade highly enough. Jade looked after our daughter Romy from age 1-4, after she originally struggled to settle at another childminder. Jade's gentle, patient, child-led approach was perfect for Romy's needs and she's played a huge role in nurturing Romy's confidence and independence. Jade provided a safe, secure and fun environment for Romy to explore her interests and try new things and she formed close relationships with Jade's family and other children in her care. We loved hearing about their adventures around Bristol and Romy always returned from her days with Jade brimming with joy. We felt very supported by Jade as a family and Jade's communication was always open and empathetic, making time to talk through any concerns or things of note following their day together. We feel very grateful that we found Jade, and we have cherished the time she's spent with us.

Jade regularly cared for our daughter Eda from age 1-4, until she started school this autumn, and was an occasional childminder for our older daughter, aged 4-7, as well. At all stages, Jade provided the absolute best of care - combining fun, games and adventure with loving, careful attention to learning, safety and health. She gave Eda and every other child lots of individual attention, truly cared for them each, and stayed alert to their particular needs. Eda was always happy and keen to go with Jade, looked forward to seeing her, and considered her an extra member of the family. She formed lasting friendships with Jade's family and other children in the setting and she grew in skills and confidence during her time there. As parents we really appreciated all the beautiful photos that Jade would send to keep us updated, and her organised and thorough approach to record keeping and invoicing. We felt very lucky to have Jade's support during these early years and are constantly recommending her to other parents - Jade is an experienced childcare professional who treats her work as a vocation and is brilliant at it!

We started with Jade when our son was still quite small and have had the pleasure of watching him develop a wonderful bond with Jade and her family. We chose Jade as she offered a gentle, nurturing style of care including sling carrying, contact napping and a fun environment which we believe has truly helped our son develop really happily while away from us.

We have never had to worry about him while we are working and ultimately that is all we ever wanted, a happy and content child whilst we were apart.

If our situation in the future were to change we would not hesitate in reaching out to Jade to help us again!!

Thank you so much :) It’s been such a joy watching him grow and learn so much this year, we’re going to miss him so much but we know he’s going to do great at nursery!
